First Look: Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in Invictus
Ask and you shall receive. When I wrote about the new title and release date for Clint Eastwood's Invictus earlier in the week, I mentioned that "we haven't seen what Morgan Freeman looks like as Mandela yet." That all changes today, as a few new photos have popped up online (via Rope of Silicon) of Freeman on set. The reader says he got a bit role as a World Cup Official and "ended up on the podium next to 'Mandela'", where he was able to snap some cell phone photos, including a shot of Matt Damon as rugby player Francois Pienaar. It's really not the best photo, but it still is our very first look at Freeman as Nelson Mandela.

Mickey Rourke on His Iron Man 2 Character Whiplash
Marvel has been keeping a very tight lid on the Iron Man 2 set, give or take Jon Favreau's tweets, not much is making out, which may be a very good thing in the end. But one person that has been talking briefly about his character is Mickey Rourke, the comeback king of last year who has a role as the villain Whiplash in the sequel. There was an update from Empire a few weeks ago that I'm combining with these very short quotes from The Guardian, who recently talked with him as well. So do you want to hear one of his lines? "If someone kills me, don't wake me up, because I'd rather be dead than live in your world."

Worth Watching - June 7: Accidents Happen Teaser Trailer
I don't really know much about this film, but this teaser looks incredible. That's all you need to know at the start. Another great discovery by Quiet Earth, this teaser is for a film called Accidents Happen, about a dysfunctional family in 1980's New England. Their youngest son Billy has been a witness to a series of tragic accidents, including one that fractured his whole family. The ensuing collision of guilt, truth and self discovery may be just what his family needs to move on. Geena Davis stars as the mom in this. Other than that, just fire this up, because I honestly don't even know where this fits in, but it at least looks great.

Mike Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat Finally Coming to Theaters!
This may not be exactly the update you're expecting, but the very good news is that Michael Dougherty's fantastic horror movie Trick 'r Treat will finally be coming to theaters (after being delayed by Warner Brothers for nearly two years). It's scheduled to hit DVD sometime in October in time for Halloween, but before that, Dougherty has arranged a nationwide road show for the film, which will be kicking off sometime this July and running through October. Dougherty announced this today at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors along with a fairly short list of cities so far (that will definitely grow as they confirm more).

James Cameron Might Be Directing a Heavy Metal Segment?!
Whoa, now this is some awesome news! We've heard about that Heavy Metal movie that David Fincher is spearheading, but it keeps getting stuck in development hell. Well, our friends at Film School Rejects recently caught up with TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman and asked him if he had any updates. "I've got breaking news that Fincher and James Cameron are going to be co-executive producers on the film. Fincher will direct one. Cameron will direct one. Zack Snyder is going to direct one and Gore Verbinski is going to. Mark Osborne and Jack Black from Tenacious D are going to do a comedy segment for the film."

Producer Hints at Spider-Man 4 Villains, Says Dunst Will Return
We weren't expecting any good updates on Spider-Man 4 for a while, since they're not that far along and it's so far out. But out of nowhere comes this rather interesting update from the New York Post. The paper talked with producer Todd Black recently for Taking of Pelham 123 but also asked him about Spider-Man 4. First off, Black confirmed that Kirsten Dunst is definitely set to return, contrary to early rumors that she might be replaced. Unfortunately, he doesn't say much more than that, but he does also confirm that the vampire Morbius is not a villain, but instead drops some hints as to who we might see in the sequel.

Guillermo del Toro Briefly Talks More About The Hobbit Split
The big man himself, Guillermo del Toro, recently stopped by Los Angeles to sign copies of his new vampire novel The Strain (I was in attendance myself). While talking to press, the topic obviously drifted to The Hobbit, and Guillermo gave the inevitable "not much has changed" update that is only worth mentioning for those anxiously awaiting every last detail? The two biggest updates both come from MTV. The last update we received was over a month ago and in it, del Toro announced that they would split the book into two films (instead of cramming it all into one). Guillermo talks briefly about that decision.

Quirky Trailer for Leslie Bibb's Indie Flick 'Miss Nobody'
Our friends over at Quiet Earth have dug up another great trailer for a film that I honestly didn't know existed. Miss Nobody is an indie that stars Leslie Bibb as Sarah Jane McKinney, a mild-mannered secretary who discovers that she has a talent for murder as she ascends the corporate ladder. In addition to Bibb, this stars Brandon Routh, Adam Goldberg, Eddie Jemison, and a handful of other actors you may recognize. It's also one of the only times that I don't think Leslie Bibb looks gorgeous, which is actually impressive, because I think her character is supposed to be the kind who doesn't stand out in a crowd.

Nick Stoller is NOT Directing The Adventurer's Handbook
If you're trying to remember what The Adventurer's Handbook is about, let me give you a little hint. Written by Jonah Hill and Max Winkler, The Adventurer's Handbook is an R-rated comedy about four 20-something guys who, inspired by a book of the same name, set out overseas in search of a mysterious location described in the book. It made headlines back in February when Hill sold the spec to Universal for upwards of seven figures. Hidden in an article in the LA Times about Universal's upcoming slate is mention that Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller would be direct this starting next March.

Sound Off: The Hangover - What Did You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Holy sh*t, I can't believe the MPAA let them show that! The Hangover is this summer's underdog comedy that might just become a breakout hit. Its got a crazy hilarious concept, the perfect cast, and some top notch marketing. But how is it as a movie? Any good? Does it live up to those brilliant trailers or is it just a drawn out and boring extension of those two-minutes. How was Mike Tyson's cameo? Was Zach Galifianakis as funny as he looked in the trailers? Who else stood out from the cast? Sound off below, leave your thoughts, and let us know what you thought of The Hangover!

A.R. Rahman Scoring Peter Billingsley's Couples Retreat
Now this is an odd choice, but very interesting, to say the least! Oscar winning composer A.R. Rahman (just think of "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire) will be scoring Couples Retreat, the upcoming comedy from Peter Billingsley starring Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love. I first heard this rumor on The Playlist, but Universal has confirmed with me that it's accurate. This is Rahman's first foray into composing music for an American comedy. I'm exactly not sure how a Rahman score will fit into this, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.

First Look: James Franco as Allen Ginsberg in Howl
We've heard a little bit about Howl, the film about the 1957 obscenity trial Allen Ginsberg faced after the publication of his poem, but this is our first look at anyone in it. James Franco stars as the poet Allen Ginsberg alongside of Mary-Louise Parker as Gail Potter, Jeff Daniels as Professor David Kirk, and David Strathairn as Ralph McIntosh. Seen below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, is our very first look at Franco along with co-star Aaron Tveit as his friend Peter Orlovsky. Howl is written and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman and was executive producer by Gus Van Sant. Check out the photo below.
