Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass Movie Heading to Comic-Con!
July 1, 2009
by Alex Billington
We've got even more San Diego Comic-Con news for you today! SlashFilm has confirmed that Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass is heading to Comic-Con this year. Matthew Vaughn will be in attendance, along with some of the film's cast, to present some of the first real footage. We haven't seen a trailer or anything else from Kick-Ass yet, so this will literally be the world premiere of anything from his movie. Kick-Ass is the biggest non-studio produce comic book movie of all time. As part of the news, SlashFilm was sent over that badass new photo of Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl that you see above. This is one panel I am very excited for!
The Kick-Ass panel will take place on Thursday, July 23rd towards the end of the day. The full schedule for Comic-Con will be out next week. Kick-Ass is both written and directed by British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake and Stardust previously. The screenplay was co-written by Vaughn and his writing partner Jane Goldman, of Stardust as well. The story is an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic of the same name that is currently in the middle of its first series. Kick-Ass was funded entirely by Matthew Vaughn and doesn't have a distributor yet (as far as we know). This will probably hit theaters sometime later this year.

ANYONE who thinks a 10-12 year old girl could be a hitman is nuts. seriously, who's getting scared when they realize a little girl is gunning for them?
i'm really trying to reserve judgement till i see a trailer………but frankly, the idea makes me laugh. maybe it'll be a comedy?

What makes me "shit my pants" is Cage's acting, ot lack there of. I wanted to see this, but alas, with the worst actor in the history of the Cinema,…….. this will be a pass. There were maybe 35 actors that could actually play the BD part, and make actually do homage to the novel.

Nic Cage is just a dark cloud hanging over this movie. He's a reliable ruiner, primed and waiting. . . . .
