The Wolf Man Reshoots Were to Revise the Werewolf Dynamics?

Back in early May, we ran an article about Joe Johnston's The Wolf Man going back for extensive reshoots to add more action. We didn't know much about what was going on, except that Universal had pushed the release back an entire seven months and seemed to be sparing no expense on these new scenes. However, a new report from England's The Daily Mail (via SlashFilm) not only confirms the reshoots, but claims that they were made because the dynamics of the werewolf bad been tweaked. Originally, it walked upright on its hind two legs, like a human, but now he'll be attack from all fours, like an actual wolf. Interesting change.
"The Wolf was on its heels and it looked daft," an actor explained. While director Joe Johnston did work on some of the new scenes, most of it was shot by Vic Armstong, a veteran stuntman who also does work as a second unit director. "Vic came up with a great confrontation between the Wolf Man and the Werewolf. They really go after each other and it's dramatic and exciting, whereas the stuff they shot first time round was limp." Word is that these new scenes involved Benicio Del Toro, who plays the lead character Lawrence Talbot, as well as Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins, who plays Del Toro's father, Sir John Talbot.
Universal did also confirm the reshoots. "The full articulation of the transformational lead character will be realised when the film is completed and we are excited to share his incredible look with the world in the upcoming trailer." Those who were at the Comic-Con panel last year were treated to a trailer for The Wolf Man, which received a fairly positive reaction. Now it's a year later and I have a feeling they'll be back in San Diego again to show us a new version of the trailer. As for when that will show up online, we're not sure. But you should mark November 6th down in your calendar - as that's the day The Wolf Man arrives in theaters.

If his legs were wolf like why change it, that makes it more creepy like Faun in Pan? Anyhow whatever I doubt this movie will make a crazy amount of money anyways.

Hey Alex - I actually spotted some of the reshoots at the Embankment in London on the 25th of May. We were talking to a poor security guy who had to sit from 6pm to 7am the following morning on a street corner guarding the production trucks!
He confirmed they were shooting The Wolfman and then later that night about 1am my friends and I spoke to one the production assistants. He confirmed they were doing reshoots mainly night scenes which makes sense as they looked to be outdoor scenes in a very "classic English" building forecourt and garden and he also said they were doing scenes with guns and firearms - he wouldn't tell us any more alas or let us have a proper look - I really wanted to meet Joe Johnston - mainly to ask about Captain America!
I should have taken some pictures cos I've never seen any major films shot in London before though my friend spotted shooting on Gullivers Travels with Jack Black in Greenwich 2 weeks later!

i think this movie is going to make bank.
the worlds asking for its classic hollywood monsters to return to the screen. We got all of our BS vampire movies which will without a doubt lead to a Dracula. Obviously the remake of The Wolf Man, and in 012 we got the best Frankenstein we will ever see (not to mention Guillermo del Toro's take on Jekyll and Hyde). All of our classic monsters will be returning for another take, and i think that rules because if done right then the younger generations will remember the same monsters, just not as black and white, drama movies but as scary awesome monster movies…. just hope they are all done right.

This movie was a fine one. I just have seen this movie trailer and it was so interesting I just cant wait to see this movie and the review have taken me inside of this movie even I am not so interested on reading more. The wolfman (2009) is a movie upcoming and It was one of the movies I did love to see in the future I think it will be an good movie for every one
