Worth Watching - July 20: Trailer for Bernard Rose's Mr. Nice
July 20, 2009

This trailer for Mr. Nice was pitched to me as "British version of Blow based on the true story of Howard Marks." Though I think it seems more like a British version of American Gangster. Mr. Nice stars Rhys Ifans as Howard Marks as well as Chloe Sevigny, David Thewlis, Elsa Pataky, Andrew Tiernan, and Jack Huston. This actually looks pretty damn good, so I thought it'd be worth featuring today. The trailer is very long, over three minutes, so make sure you're settled in before you watch it. This actually looks a lot better than I was expecting and the mix of comedy and drama also seems like it'll be a unique touch. Take a look!
Watch the promo trailer for Bernard Rose's Mr. Nice:
The life story of Howard Marks, a former teacher who achieved notoriety as a drug smuggler through connections with MI6, the IRA, and the Mafia, and his eventual conviction at the hands of the DEA.
Mr. Nice is written and directed by British filmmaker Bernard Rose, of Clive Barker's Candyman, Immortal Beloved, Anna Karenina, Ivans xtc, Snuff-Movie, and The Kreutzer Sonata previously. This is currently set to hit theaters in England next February in 2010. However, it doesn't have a US distributor just yet, so we're not sure when it'll hit US theaters. Stay tuned for updates! In the meantime, let us know what you thought?

Nice to Rhys Ifans at the helm in this! I hope it hits the U.S. soon!

I met him once, he was quite a charming man.
Rhys Ifans is on good form and Chloe Sevigny's accent is pretty good too. I'm sure he got up to some pretty messsed up stuff so it will be interesting to see what goes on.

If only it were being released sooner it could have a chance at Oscardom, to be honest this is one of the few films I feel ever graze the chance of getting nominated into the new "BIGGER BETTER 10 SLOT" (sarcastically of course, it's just so idiotic how they expanded it). This looksl ike an amazing film.

its looks like an amazing movie, but the trailer is everything I'm against! it told to much and was way to long. not to mention the 4 different song changes.
still… the movie will rock

Since when do you end a trailer with, "In Post-Production"??
'Out Soon' is a better wrap up on that.
