First Look: Ben Kingsley as Nizam in Disney's Prince of Persia
Disney is really going all out with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time this week. Ironically, though, they're not showing anything at Comic-Con (or is it just a secret?). ComingSoon has debuted the first photo of Ben Kingsley as the "villainous nobleman" Nizam from the movie. Earlier today the first two teaser posters for the movie were also unveiled (check those out here) and I have a feeling we might see a lot more from this sometime very soon. Maybe even a trailer this weekend in front of G-Force? I mean, that is a Jerry Bruckheimer movie, and so is this, it would make sense. With that said, take a look at this photo of Kingsley.

Human Giant and Reno 911 Actors Cinemash Point Break!
Those crazy cats over at Mean Magazine have whipped another crazy awesome Cinemash video for you viewing pleasure today. In this video, Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant of the notorious fake police square Reno 911! join forces with Aziz Ansari and Rob Huebel of Human Giant, the sketch comedy troupe, to recreate a pivotal scene from the cult favorite action movie Point Break. This was actually pretty frickin' great, better than that Tron video with Cheech and Chong. We previously featured a Cinemash video with Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt from 500 Days of Summer cinemashing Sid and Nancy.

500 Days of Summer Writers Adapting 'Beginner's Greek'
It seems Warner Brothers fell in love with 500 Days of Summer, too. The studio has acquired the rights to James Collins' novel "Beginner's Greek" for Donald De Line to produce and 500 Days of Summer screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber to adapt. The only other screenplay credit Scott and Michael have, sadly, is The Pink Panther 2, but it's great to see them getting some good gigs after all the 500 Days hype. "Beginner's Greek," published last year, centers on an investment banker who meets his soul mate on a plane, loses her phone number and discovers later that his best friend has married the woman.

Lloyd Levin Adapting Terry Moore's 'Echo' Comic Series
Given that Comic-Con is this week, you can expect a lot of comic book related news. Variety announces that producer Lloyd Levin has acquired rights to Echo, a comic book series by Terry Moore published by his Abstract Studio imprint. Levin co-produced Watchmen and also produced the two Hellboy movies and United 93. Echo tells the story of a photographer named Julie Martin who is preoccupied with her personal problems until she gets doused by liquid metal from a military experiment gone awry. She discovers she can now harness the power of a nuclear bomb, and soon the military wants its "walking weapon" for their use.

Nicolas Cage to Play the 'Gangster Villain' in Green Hornet?
Whoa, I don't think anyone saw this coming? Variety reports that Nicolas Cage is in early talks to play the "gangster villain" in Seth Rogen's The Green Hornet being directed by Michel Gondry. Cage will star alongside of Rogen and Cameron Diaz, who was announced a few weeks ago, though the role of Kato is still open. They also say, as we reported earlier today, that "the picture is moving full steam ahead for a fall start date." Cage last starred in Knowing and recently finished The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Bad Lieutenant, Season of the Witch, and Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass. I definitely think this is going upset a few people.

Marc Webb's 500 Days of Blogging #3 - Internet Wormholes
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a minute since my last blog. Its been a very crazy few weeks preparing for 500 Days of Summer to come out. There are screenings all over the country, Q&A's, interviews and all sorts of hoopla that go on non-stop. This kind of smaller movie requires a lot of personal attention to replace the big billboards and commercials of our big studio brethren. There's a lot to process and so far the response has been pretty warm. Now that the movie's starting to get out there (stretching further and further into new markets in the coming weeks - click here for release details) I finally have a minute to hit my belated blog.

Worth Watching - July 20: Trailer for Bernard Rose's Mr. Nice
This trailer for Mr. Nice was pitched to me as "British version of Blow based on the true story of Howard Marks." Though I think it seems more like a British version of American Gangster. Mr. Nice stars Rhys Ifans as Howard Marks as well as Chloe Sevigny, David Thewlis, Elsa Pataky, Andrew Tiernan, and Jack Huston. This actually looks pretty damn good, so I thought it'd be worth featuring today. The trailer is very long, over three minutes, so make sure you're settled in before you watch it. This actually looks a lot better than I was expecting and the mix of comedy and drama also seems like it'll be a unique touch. Take a look!

Check This Out: Boring New Motion Poster for Saw VI
Lionsgate is a bit obsessed with these new "motion posters." So much so that they've decided to forgo the normal disgusting poster designs they usually use and give us this bland motion poster for Saw VI. It's a cool little gimmick and fun to see for the first time, but I don't know how well it works for the Saw series. I mean, I preferred seeing teeth and arms and legs, but a bunch of people running to form the face of Jigsaw, what the heck does it even mean? I doubt he's even really killed that many people. Thanks to Yahoo we've got a new poster for Saw VI that you can see come together below. Be sure to let us know what you think?

Derrick Comedy's Mystery Team Theatrical Trailer Arrives!
It's here, it's finally here! Derrick Comedy has unveiled the official MPAA approved theatrical trailer for their Sundance smash hit Mystery Team. If you don't know what to expect with this, then start here, because this trailer gives you a great look into the crazy comedic mind of Derrick Comedy and some of the madness that you will see throughout Mystery Team. You might've already heard the buzz about this coming out of Sundance, but if not, don't worry, you will hear it from one of your friends soon enough (or you can just read our review). Anyway, I think I've said enough, just do yourself a favor and fire this up!

Two Stylish Posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Last week the first official photo from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was finally unveiled. This week we finally have the first two posters from the movie as well (via Empire). These look a bit more like magazine covers than posters, but maybe that's the look they're going for. I think Disney really wants to try and sell this as a modernized, energetic action movie. And you know what, considering this is the one time I think a video game movie could turn out great and be a huge hit, I'm fine with them doing whatever they need to get audiences into theaters next summer. Oh yea, let's not forget, this isn't out for another year.

Two Interviews: Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
One of my favorite movies of the year has finally hit theaters (albeit limited only) this weekend - 500 Days of Summer. I first saw it at Sundance and back in January, one snowy afternoon, I sat down with stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Marc Webb. That interview I did with Marc was posted back in January (watch it here). However, I've been holding onto the Zooey and Joe interviews until now - so that you have something to watch right now. And now I present to you both interviews, side-by-side, for your viewing pleasure. Remember, both of these were conducted at Sundance in January.

Seth Rogen on Green Hornet: It's Not Canceled, Don't Worry!
For some of you, that's sad to hear. For others, it could be good news. At this point I honestly don't know what to expect with The Green Hornet. Michel Gondry is directing, Seth Rogen is starring, Evan Goldberg and Rogen wrote the script. They used to have Stephen Chow as Kato, but now he's gone. Is it a comedy, is it action, is a mix of both, will it be any good? Who really knows?! Rogen has been talking to press recently for Funny People and a few updates have popped up that are worth pointing out. One comes from HitFix, the other from Ain't It Cool News. Don't worry, Green Hornet is still alive and well, at least for the time being.
