On The Hobbit Casting: Peter Jackson Says It's Still Too Early
You probably heard about the three actors who are in the running for The Hobbit sometime earlier this week. If not, jump over to the Hero Complex for the low down on the Bilbo Baggins casting. Everyone (myself included) thought this meant we might get an announcement at Comic-Con, as Peter Jackson himself will be there for District 9. However, Empire talked with Jackson and that might not be the case. "No, we won't be announcing Bilbo for a little while," Jackson says. "We're starting to think about casting, but we're knee-deep in the script right now... We're powering ahead with getting the first draft done."

Stuart Beattie Talks About His 'Halo: Fall of Reach' Movie
If anyone remembers, last year, concept art that was attached to a Halo screenplay called Halo: Fall of Reach written by Pirates of the Caribbean writer Stuart Beattie ended up on the web. It was Beattie's adaptation of the Halo book of the same name that he wrote on his own during the writer's strike for free just because he loves the Halo franchise and wanted to one day see a movie actually get made. SciFi Wire caught up with Beattie recently and talked with him about Halo: Fall of Reach and the latest developments. "I really believe a Halo movie would just be awesome, especially this Halo movie." Maybe there is hope?

Russell Crowe Interested in Another Master & Commander?!
Wait, what? Over on the Associated Press, they're reporting that Russell Crowe is "in the early stages of negotiations" to reprise his role as the British sea captain Jack Aubrey in another Master & Commander movie. Apparently Crowe told the AP at a cricket match that a script based mostly on the eleventh novel of Patrick O'Brian's 20-novel series, titled The Reverse of the Medal, has been written, but that discussions were only at a very early stage. "There's still a long way to go," he told them. According to Crowe, they're still trying to secure the rights to the novel, which sees Aubrey dealing with money problems this time around.

First French Trailer for Jim Carrey's I Love You Phillip Morris
Thanks to our friends in France (via Allocine), we finally have a trailer for I Love You Phillip Morris, starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. Right off the bat you'll get to see exactly what this is all about. It's quirky and fun and very gay but that's why it's so great (read my review from Cannes). This obviously isn't going to be a movie for everyone, which is why it's still labeled as an indie and had its prmeiere at Sundance earlier this year. However, it's still a fun movie with a good story and great performances. As always, even if you're not that interested, I suggest you check this out, you might be surprised. The trailer is in English!

New Posters: Kick-Ass at Comic-Con, Richard Kelly's The Box
A couple of new posters have hit the web today. The first one is the official Comic-Con poster for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass (via Ain't It Cool News). The poster was drawn by John Romita Jr. and will be given out at the Con for those interested. The second one is an updated and finalized version of the poster for Richard Kelly's The Box (via Twitter), that we featured a trailer for a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I still don't like the poster, mainly because I hate how huge Cameron Diaz's face is in comparison to the other elements on the poster. You can see the original version of The Box poster here for comparison. Check them out below!

First Look: Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
I know what you're thinking: haven't we already seen photos of a shirtless and buff Donnie Darko as the Prince of Persia? Yes, yes we have, but this is the first official photo of Jake Gyllenhaal, as published in Entertainment Weekly. Unfortunately, that photo seen above is about as big as it gets. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won't be appearing at Comic-Con next week - it's one of the big movies that Disney decided to leave out of its line-up, for whatever reason. I'm not sure when we'll ever see a trailer - I was expecting to see something this summer - but until that arrives, this photo is going to have to hold us over.

Kill 'Em All - Two Brand New Inglourious Basterds TV Spots!
This ain't your typical World War II movie! Two brand new 30-second TV spots for Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds have popped up online today and can be seen below. I'm trying my hardest to keep the buzz strong for Basterds. Even though it may not be the movie most people are probably expecting to see, it's still a great movie, and I hope people take a liking to it. Tarantino needs some time in the spotlight again and this time he certainly deserves it. As in, where Grindhouse failed in 2007, I hope Inglourious Basterds succeeds. The more advertising I see for this, the more I can't wait to see it again! Check 'em out.

Judd Apatow Interviews Adam Sandler for Funny People
Judd Apatow's third feature film, Funny People, finally hits theaters at the end of this month. Because I probably won't get the chance to talk with Adam Sandler myself, instead I wanted to feature this "Inside Look" video from Yahoo where Apatow interviews Sandler. It's another short behind-the-scenes featurette but includes a few great interview moments, since Sandler and Apatow were once roommates way back in the day. I actually just saw the film earlier this week, but I'm not allowed to talk about it yet. I will say, though, that this video does a great job of showing a bit more of what you're in for when this hits theaters.

First Look: Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con Sneak Peek
In addition to that badass new cover photo featuring Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Entertainment Weekly's latest issue includes a brief Comic-Con Sneak Peek with a few more new photos from some movies that will be present at the Con. Obviously all the studios are keeping their big reveals a secret until they can debut them next week in San Diego, but the magazine does have a few cool new photos from movies like Iron Man 2, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Zombieland, Kick-Ass (seen above), Shane Acker's 9, and Pandorum. You can check out more photos or get more info on any of these by clicking them below.

Ed Helms Set to Visit 'Cedar Rapids' in the Ensemble Comedy
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Population: 128,056. This is where Ed Helms will venture in his new indie project, titled Cedar Rapids. Helms will play a wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man, who, when his role model dies, must represent his company at a regional insurance conference in said city. But when he arrives there, his mind is blown by the big-town experience. THR has announced that former "Daily Show" correspondent Ed Helms will star in the ensemble road-trip comedy that Miguel Arteta (of the upcoming Youth in Revolt) is directing. Alexander Payne, Jim Taylor and Jim Burke are producing. Sounds great!

Creepy Trailer for Lost at Sea Psychological Thriller 'Triangle'
I don't get excited for that many horror movies, but this one has piqued my interest. Empire just debuted the trailer for Triangle, which is short for the Bermuda Triangle. It's a lost-at-sea psychological thriller that looks like it gets crazier as time goes on. It starts out with a group of people, including the beautiful Melissa George, sailing on a yacht on the open sea who get caught up in a major storm. Once they make it out, barely alive, they come across a cruise liner, but once aboard they discover that it's completely empty. From there things get really twisted. It looks like it could be pretty good, so check out the trailer below.

Crazy Rumor: Robert De Niro Cast in Danny Trejo's Machete
So none of this is actually confirmed, but Bloody Disgusting has a report from a one of their regular trusted tipsters regarding some some big name actors that have (potentially) joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez's Machete. Danny Trejo is obviously returning to play the "madman bent on revenge" and I'm sure we can expect Cheech Marin to reprise his role as the priest as well. But they're saying that Michelle Rodriguez will play a character named Luz, Jonah Hill will play Julio, and, lastly, that Robert De Niro will play Senator McLaughlin. If this is true, then hell yes, I can't wait to see De Niro fighting Trejo mano-a-mano!
