Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Might Be Marvel's Black Panther?
British actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who is playing Heavy Duty in G.I. Joe and starred on "Lost" as Mr. Eko, might be the next actor in the running to play Marvel's Black Panther. MTV just spoke with Adewale on a red carpet in San Diego last night and he had this to say: "We're talking to Marvel about Black Panther... This is the first round, so hopefully they'll look at G.I. Joe and see the potential, but it's about time we have a black superhero." Adewale is the latest actor to be in the running for the superhero role after both Chiwetel Ejiofor and Djimon Hounsou previously. But will this version finally see the light of day?

Casting Bits: Downey Jr. is Due, Brolin on Street, Mila Kunis in Swan
A bunch of casting news hit over the last few days that I thought I'd pull together into one big article. First up, Robert Downey Jr. has signed on opposite Zach Galifianakis in the upcoming comedy Due Date that Hangover director Todd Phillips will direct next (via EW). Downey will play an expectant father on a road trip racing to get to the birth of his first child. Next up, Josh Brolin has been offered the role of the "villain" in Oliver Stone's Wall Street sequel titled Money Never Sleeps (via Nikki Fine). Fox originally wanted Javier Bardem (as reported here) for this, but he turned down the stock-shorting hedge fund manager role.

EA's Dead Space Video Game Being Adapted by D.J. Caruso
Gamers should be familiar with Dead Space, EA's sci-fi / horror video game that hit shelves last October. Variety announced tonight that Disturbia and Eagle Eye director D.J. Caruso is attached to direct a big screen adaptation. EA will produce the film with Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. EA has been working with Caruso to find a screenwriter and will only pitch it to studios once everyone agrees on the creative direction. Caruso has a few other projects lined up, like Jack the Giant Killer and The Defenders, so it seems like Dead Space is one of those projects that is years away from actually happening.

Bob $tencil at Comic-Con 2009: Getting Lost on Saturday
Saturday was the best day at the Con so far! Typically I go to Hall H panels to hit on hot celebrities but in this particular case, I am a huge Lost fan. The show has everything I love: airplane crashes, sexy women on tropical beaches, an experimental hippy commune, underground layers, time travel. It reminds me of the good 'ol days of the 70s. I think my question really touched on a hot-button issue, because rather than answer the question, they distracted me with a very cool custom prize. Well played sirs! Then it it was off to the men's bathroom where, with Bacon's help, I blue myself in preparation for the Comic-Con Masquerade.

Comic-Con: Marvel's Kevin Feige Reveals Avengers Line-Up
As almost everyone knows, Marvel stopped by Comic-Con yesterday to premiere the first footage from Iron Man 2 (which we didn't get to see). Marvel's Kevin Feige talked with press afterwards (via Collider) and one of the questions he was asked was whether or not they had worked out the line-up for The Avengers movie yet. Apparently they have, even though "Zack Penn is outlining it as we speak." So who's in it? I think we already know exactly who to expect. "It's going to be Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Nick Fury." But that's not all - there's a few more other members who might show up in the movie as well.

Screenwriter Hired for Roland Emmerich's Foundation Trilogy
Way back in January it was announced that Roland Emmerich would be directing an adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy. That's all we really knew at the time, but when Emmerich appeared at Comic-Con yesterday, he confirmed (via ComingSoon) that they've hired a screenwriter for the adaptation - Oscar nominated writer Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot). "He is the most knowledgeable person I ever met about the Foundation novels. It's great to write with somebody like that because... he knows it. I had a certain idea and he had a certain idea and that together I think will make this a movie."

Great Voice Cast Potentials for Eric Powell's The Goon Movie
You might remember hearing (or seeing) some details about a movie based on Eric Powell's cult comic The Goon previously. The entire project is being spearheaded by David Fincher and is being animated by Blur Studios, but it hasn't gotten the greenlight, which I'm guessing means they still need extra funding. Well, since The Goon is a comic, they had a big presence at Comic-Con this weekend, including a panel earlier in the week. SlashFilm was there and got the scoop on a few new details straight from Eric Powell himself, including that Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti are interested in providing their voices for the movie.

Comic-Con: First Look at Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch Art
Our buddy Zack Snyder was in San Diego last night hosting a Blu-Ray Live screening of Watchmen for Comic-Con. Apparently a few of these new shirts for his next upcoming movie, Sucker Punch, were handed out during that screening. I actually saw someone wearing one last night as well, but didn't get a shot of it, so I'm happy this showed up online anyway. Deadline Hollywood snapped a shot of the very first "art" from Sucker Punch that's publicly available. From that design alone, this looks like some twisted, dark, crazy stuff that we'll be seeing in Zack's next movie. As far as I know, that is Emily Browning on the shirt.

Bob $tencil at Comic-Con 2009: Forget Thursday, It's Friday!
Hey friends its your friend Bob $tencil. So I apologize for not having something more substantial that covers Thursday... oh wait a minute, no I don't. Thursday was the worst day I have ever spent at Comic-Con and I owe it all to that awful movie "Twilight Saga Colon New Moon." I say that we just forget the whole thing happened and call it even. Friday was a much better day. Rather than waiting in lines with Twilight moms and pubescent girls, I was finally able to get down to brass tacks with the celebrities I had the fortune of bumping into including Mila Kunis, Jackie Earl Haley, Robert Downey Jr, and Megan Fox. Check it out!

Must Watch: Wonderful Where the Wild Things Are Featurette
One of the best presentations I saw yesterday at Comic-Con was for Where the Wild Things Are Featurette. The panel kicked off with this short featurette and included a brief appearance by the movie's young star (seen above), aptly named Max Records, who gave a hilarious speech. Anyway, the other scenes we were shown were wonderful as well, but this featurette, which also has the book's original author Maurice Sendak talking about working with Spike Jonze, really set the tone. If you thought that teaser trailer looked great or are even still hesitant about this, I suggest you watch this featurette, it's wonderful.

Great New Photos from Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox
Our friends over at USA Today scored a gaggle of new photos for Wes Anderson's upcoming stop-motion animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox. We previously featured some photos last week, however these give us a better look at the behind-the-scenes of it. All you need to know about the film can be found here, though the release date is now set for November 13th of this year. Among the photos are a few immersive stills of the characters (emoting quite impressively, I must say) and shots with Anderson himself arranging them to do his bidding in this expanded version of Roald Dahl's classic story. Definitely worth checking these out!

Must Watch: High Def Test Teaser Trailer for Tron Legacy!
Whoa! Another surprise discovered earlier today. As I mentioned in the rundown on the big viral for Tron Legacy last night, we were collecting codes from the Space Paranoids game. Another viral site was recently discovered at flynnlives.com/derez/ and once all five of the secret codes were entered on there, it unlocked this trailer. This is the same teaser trailer that was shown last year at Comic-Con (and in 3D this year) and is still the best footage from Tron 2 that we have. But this isn't actual footage from the movie - it's test footage created to sell the movie. They are using some of these set pieces and lightcycles, but that's about it. Enjoy!
