Must Watch: New Full-Length Official Trailer for Whiteout
Although we showed you a teaser trailer for Whiteout a few weeks back, you really need to watch this new trailer (thanks to IGN for debuting it). Whiteout stars Kate Beckinsale as U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko who ends up investigating the first murder ever on Antarctica. I wasn't sure what we'd end up seeing go down in this movie (or who murdered who) - but as you can get a glimpse of in this trailer, there is something very interesting going on here. I don't want to start venturing into the territory of aliens or monsters or anything like that, but this is definitely a huge step up from that last trailer and it has certainly caught my interest.

Exclusive: Comic-Con 2009 Preview Night Showfloor Photos!
In the immortal words of Rhino the Hamster, "Let it begin!" Comic-Con 2009 kicked off tonight with the late Wednesday night "preview" of the showfloor and exhibit hall open to only a small percentage of all the attendees. Oddly enough though, it's packed, probably more crowded than normal. And if not, then I'm glad I'm not going to be in there the rest of the week. It only seems to get more and more crowded every year. As is my tradition, I busted through the doors to try and get a few shots of the coolest things I could find before I was tired of wading through the sea of geeks. Here's the best shots I could come up with in a few hours.

James Wan Writing & Directing Castlevania for Paul W.S. Anderson
Some exciting news for fans of this game. James Wan, one of the two masterminds behind Saw and the director of Dead Silence and Death Sentence, will be co-writing and directing Castlevania for producer Paul W.S. Anderson (via Bloody-Disgusting). For a long while, Sylvain White had been attached to direct this, but now its landed in Wan's lap. Yes, we know that Paul W.S. Anderson is involved in this, so it might not be that amazing, but I do expect Wan to do a great job with it, at least. "I'm very fresh on this project, so its early stages and I'm still trying to work things out, but the producers love my vision for it," Wan said.

Awesome New Teaser Poster for A Nightmare on Elm Street!
While we were out and about earlier today, IGN debuted the first teaser poster for Platinum Dunes' new A Nightmare on Elm Street which will hit theaters early next year. We posted a set visit preview earlier today as well as the first official photo of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, but this is what I've been waiting to see. This is badass poster and exactly what I needed to see to make me excited for this "reboot." I'm not at all familiar with the franchise, which is why I sent Brandon to the set in Chicago recently, but this makes me interested. I can't wait to see more from it! Check out the awesome full-size new poster below.

Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are Headed to IMAX
At a presentation about the "Future of IMAX" today in San Diego, IMAX announced that a few upcoming movies would be hitting their theaters later this year. In addition to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which will show in IMAX 3D, they announced that Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are would be arriving in IMAX on October 16th. Both ComingSoon and CinemaBlend confirmed the news, as I wasn't able to make the presentation since it was roughly 30 minutes away from Comic-Con. IMAX has a long-standing relationship with Warner Brothers from the Harry Potter movies and will be up-converting this movie.

Check This Out: District 9's MNU Truck Found at Comic-Con
While walking back to my hotel earlier today in San Diego, I stumbled across this badass truck for MNU from District 9. There's no subliminal viral marketing - they slapped some huge District 9 stickers across this thing. I'm guessing this is an actual vehicle they used on the set and decided just to ship/bring it over to Comic-Con and Los Angeles for promotion. It's pretty awesome to see this thing in real life and it has a huge gun mounted on the top, too. I'm hoping they put that gun to use in the movie, but I haven't seen it yet. I've uploaded a little video of this that I shot with my iPhone so you can get a better look at it. Check it out!

New Posters: Scorsese's Shutter Island, Lionsgate's Saw VI
The game comes full circle. That tagline could apply to either of these movies, but it's actually from the new poster for Saw VI. In addition to that poster, we've got the new official one-sheet for Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio (via Yahoo) that looks a lot different than the one we saw in Cannes. The new Saw VI poster comes from Bloody-Disgusting and if you're a big fan of the design, a whole truckload of them will be given out at Comic-Con. I'm not the biggest fan of the Shutter Island poster, but I do at least like the dark, gritty style of it. Click on either of these posters below to see them much bigger!

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Teaser Trailer Leaks Early
As I was heading out to get some lunch today, I got an email alerting me that IGN had accidentally posted the teaser trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland early. It was an accident, as Disney had alerted us yesterday that the trailer wouldn't be online until tomorrow afternoon in connection with their Facebook promo. Of course, IGN smartened up and removed the trailer, but our friends at TrailerAddict still have it up. So if you're anxious to check this out early, drop off every and watch it below. It looks very magical, very whimsical, and very much a fantastical adventure. Though I'm worried not everyone will like what they see.

First Look: Jackie Earle Haley as the New Freddy Krueger
Well, okay, this is hardly a real first look, but alas, it's the only photo we got. MySpace has debuted the first official photo of Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy Krueger from Samuel Bayer's A Nightmare on Elm Street. Earlier today we gave you a hint what you can eventually expect in our set visit report coming early next year. Now you can get a glimpse at what Freddy will look like - and it's pretty much the same as we've seen before. For those of you who are a bit let down by this photo, don't worry, there will be another photo debuted on IGN today (that we'll add to this) that might show a bit more. Check the photo out below!

FS.net Hits Comic-Con for a Fourth Year - Plus a Meet-Up!
Like every other movie blog and website around, we're also covering the San Diego Comic-Con all this week (just in case you didn't know). This is our fourth year covering Comic-Con and it's one of the most year's exciting yet. Not only is their just an incredible line-up of panels, but as always, we have so much great coverage in store, including our returning special guest, Bob Stencil. What I'm looking forward to seeing the most is James Cameron's Avatar, Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, Tron 2, and of course, Iron Man 2. But don't worry, we'll still be covering almost every other movie panel. Read on for meet-up details!

USA Today's Comic-Con Preview: District 9, Iron Man 2 Photos
We know that Comic-Con kicks off today (and we'll be there!) but we've got one more last-minute update from USA Today. The newspaper has two more last-minute sneak peek articles with a few more new photos from two movies: District 9 and Iron Man 2. We've seen a lot of photos from both of these movies recently, but these photos are still pretty damn cool to see, especially if you're getting excited for all that's going down in the next few days (and that's exactly what we are). With that said, I don't think I need to introduce either of these at all, so dive right in and check out the new photos! Click on any below for more.

Set Visit Preview: He's Back - The Return of Freddy Krueger
One, two, Freddy's coming for you. Three, four, better lock your door.
Just outside of Chicago, Freddy Krueger was making his return to the silver screen. And I was there. In the dark warehouse, it felt almost like I was trapped inside one of Freddy's creations instead of merely visiting the set. The reboot machine that is Platinum Dunes has tapped the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise as the latest (and possibly last) property to retell. And this isn't going to be Robert Englund's Freddy.
