Enjoy This: 500 Days of Summer Bank Heist Music Video
August 8, 2009

by Alex Billington
"Zooey's absence from the dance number in 500 Days of Summer was a tragic injustice. Here we have a remedy." A great music video popped up online earlier this week that I just need to feature today. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel and is directed by Marc Webb - so basically it's a fun little 500 Days of Summer reunion. It's actually a music video for the song "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?" by Zooey Deschanel's band She & Him. It was created as an additional promotional video by Fox Searchlight for the nationwide release of 500 Days of Summer this weekend. It's really a fun video, so check it out!
If you enjoyed this, I suggest reading the great making-of article on USA Today as well. Here's an excerpt: "What people see as the endearing dynamic between the two actors is actually the result of this quartet. 'We had a good sort of cabal going. They're not diva personalities. They enjoy their work and take it seriously, but still manage to have fun with it,' Webb says." It's so great to see these guys teaming up again so often after making one of my favorite movies of the year. We also featured that Cinemash video with Zooey and Joe previously. And here's one of my other favorite parts from that article that's a perfect way to end this.
"Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt say they hope to team up repeatedly and have aspirations of being a regular screen couple, like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers or Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. They're not a real couple, but they're good at faking it."

the beginning was a little slow music wise, but all of the video was great. I wouldn't mind seeing them as another on-screen couple in another movie. I never knew Joseph Gordon-Levitt could dance so well.

I'm a huge Heath Ledger fan and I agree with #9 (except for the whole want to punch Zooey in the face comment
), Joseph-Gordan Levitt dose look a lot like Heath. Anyway we should expect great things out of these actors in the future, I can't wait to watch them grow even more as actors.

AMAZING!!!! This is my favorite She&Him song and Zooey and JGL made me love it even more… Too bad M.Ward is not in the clip, but still this is amazing!! This has to be the best video ever made since FatBoySlim's "Weapon of Choice" featuring Christopher Walken
