Full-Length Trailer for Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story

Capitalism: A Love Story Trailer

And you thought there were no more trailers today! CNN has debuted the first full-length trailer for Michael Moore's new documentary Capitalism: A Love Story. We featured the first interactive teaser back in June, but unlike that one, this has actual footage from the doc. Being a Moore fan, I've got to say this looks as awesome, hilarious, and controversial as any of his previous films. This time, Moore tackles Wall Street and our economy. I'm not so sure I like his use of all the cheerful 50's style footage, but I do love his not-so-subtle use of MIA's "Paper Planes." Please try and keep all comments about the film itself and not politics.

Badass Blue Screen Photo from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Blue Screen Photo from Scott Pilgrim

We haven't seen much from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World or even talked about it much recently. That's because its been shooting for a while and Universal decided not to fly us up to the set. But no biggie, I'm still very excited for it, anxiously awaiting a trailer. Edgar Wright has been keeping up with the daily photo blog and just posted another new photo today that you just have to see. It doesn't show anything that we haven't seen before, per se, but it is an awesome shot of a floating bass player rigged up to some contraption in a blue screen room. Is there going to be some weird psychadelic floating rock moments in this? I hope so!

Must Watch: Joe Johnston's The Wolfman Official Trailer!

The Wolfman Trailer

Yet another great trailer has debuted this morning, this time for The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving. Yesterday we debuted a new batch of photos that just looked awesome and this trailer definitely lives up to those. As I said then as well, I'm not normally a big werewolf guy, but I am frickin' excited for this. It really looks like Joe Johnston was the perfect guy to bring some style and excitement and energy to this remake. This really just looks exceptional - dark and moody and violent and everything. Maybe if that Avatar trailer wasn't your thing, this one will be. Watch this!

Interview: Col. Hans 'The Jew Hunter' Landa - Christoph Waltz

Christoph Waltz

If there is one actor that you'll walk out of Inglourious Basterds absolutely amazed by, I guarantee it'll be Christoph Waltz. This 52-year-old Austrian actor, who is fluent in English, German, and French, apparently got the role last minute, right before Tarantino was ready to give up because his character, Col. Hans Landa, was such an important part and he hadn't found the right actor. I had the tremendous honor of meeting and interviewing Christoph last week. While it was certainly one of the most unique interviews I've ever done, especially because he's such a humble person, it was also potentially one of the best. Read on!

Check This Out: Audacious Text-Only Poster for Antichrist

Antichrist

Almost all the marketing material we've seen for Lars von Trier's Antichrist so far (photos, posters) has been pretty edgy and probably wouldn't be approved by the MPAA. So for the official UK poster, Artificial Eye whipped up this one sheet that contains nothing but text. And best of all, it's probably the smartest way to market this movie, or at least warn people about what they're getting into. Having seen Antichrist in Cannes (read my review) I can tell you that everything this poster says is completely accurate - every last word. If any of this makes you want to actually see it, then maybe, just maybe, it's the right film for you.

New Writers for DC's Shazam & DreamWorks' Rainbow Bridge

Captain Marvel

A couple of new screenwriter updates today. Warner Brothers has hired former actor Billy Birch and DC Comics writer Geoff Johns to kick-start and co-write a new version of the Shazam! movie that never got off the ground. Birch is the sixth writer to take a crack at adapting the character Captain Marvel following William Goldman (The Princess Bride), Bryan Goluboff (The Basketball Diaries), Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow (Garfield) and John August (Big Fish, The Nines). Last we heard in back in January, the project was dead, but apparently Get Smart's Peter Segal is still attached to direct and is waiting for the new script.

Legendary Pictures Bringing Rockstar Jimi Hendrix to Film

Jimi Hendrix

Forty years ago, Jimi Hendrix transformed our National Anthem, The Star-Spangeld Banner, into tribute and protest all the same (YouTube). It was a seminal and defining moment of the first Woodstock Music Festival. But that was just a single seminal moment in Hendrix's too-short life (he died in 1970 at only 27 years old). And it's that life that Legendary Pictures is hoping to bring to a theater near you, according to Variety. In the past, Experience Hendrix (controlled by Hendrix's stepsister Janie) hasn't allowed any film projects to catch fire. However, Legendary is first developing the project before presenting it to the estate.

Robert Zemeckis Remaking The Beatles' Yellow Submarine?!

The Beatles - Yellow Submarine

Another day, another remake. Variety is reporting that Robert Zemeckis is negotiating with Disney to remake The Beatle's Yellow Submarine, the 1968 psychedelic animated film (watch the trailer). Zemeckis will turn the film into a CGI feature and shoot it using performance-capture digital 3-D the same way he did for A Christmas Carol. The hope is to have the new version of Yellow Submarine ready to premiere around the 2012 Summer Olympics, which begins July 27th that year in London. Disney has been quietly brokering a complicated rights deal that would give Zemeckis access to 16 original Beatles songs for use in the film.

Worth Watching: Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson Trailer

Bronson Trailer

Magnolia Pictures has debuted the official US trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson today on Hulu (apologies for those not in the US - you can see another trailer here). It's about the "most violent prisoner in Britain." A young man who was sentenced to 7 years on prison for robbing a post office ends up spending 30 years in solitary confinement. During this time, his own personality is supplanted by his alter ego, Charles Bronson. This movie is crazy, that's the best way to describe it. Nicolas Winding Refn has a kind of Stanly Kubrick-like style and Tom Hardy's performance as Bronson is just incredible, but it's a really weird story.

Check These Out: Awesome New Photos from The Wolf Man

The Wolf Man Photos

The official trailer for The Wolf Man finally hits tomorrow morning (check back for it then), and in honor of that debut, Yahoo has unveiled a few new photos from the movie. Normally I wouldn't have mentioned these with the trailer coming so soon, but some of these just look awesome. I'm not normally a werewolf guy, but the cast Joe Johnston pulled together (that you see below) for this is just fantastic. I've got really high hopes and I think the trailer is going to excited a lot of people. I haven't seen anything new from this since Comic-Con last year, but now I'm getting excited for it once again. Check out the new photos below!

So Moriarty Might Actually Be in Sherlock Holmes After All?

Professor Moriarty

Something fishy is going on. Earlier this week a rumor hit courtesy of the untrustworthy British tabloid The Daily Mirror claiming that Brad Pitt had been cast in a small cameo role in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes as the evil Professor Moriarty. We didn't run it because, well, it just seemed untrue from the start. Warner Brothers was quick to dispel the rumor, saying that "Brad Pitt is not joining the cast." But now MTV is saying that might have just been a very careful choice of words on there part, as they have seemingly have proof from Guy Ritchie himself that Moriarty might indeed be showing up in the movie. Wait, really?
