Facebook Casting Rumors: Jesse Eisenberg & Justin Timberlake?

If it weren't for today being a slow news day and/or a travel day, I probably wouldn't care to write about this. They're just rumors and they don't mean much and I'm not even that happy with the choices. Our friend Carson Reeves of ScriptShadow wrote an update on his Facebook page mentioning that he's heard rumors about the cast for David Fincher's The Social Network, the movie about Facebook. He says that Jesse Eisenberg will play the lead Mark Zuckerberg (seen above), Justin Timberlake will play Napster's Sean Parker, and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo. How's that for some interesting casting choices?
If you're not sure who Mark Zuckerberg is, or why he's intereacting with Sean Parker, I suggest you go back and re-read the script review, where we talk about the story behind how Facebook started, which is the story we'll see in The Social Network. Eisenberg has been growing in popularity recently and stars in Zombieland this October. Timberlake, well, he's JT, he doesn't really need an introduction, and I'm guessing he's been looking for more acting roles, plus he really fits the bill, as the character he's possibly playing is exactly the kind of person he is in real life (to a degree). This just seems like an inexperienced cast for a Fincher film.
The problem is that this is all just a rumor at the moment. Well, not entirely. We know that this has started casting and they're hoping to start shooting this year. However, The Playlist has a spolid update. "A good inside source who's been poking us on this Facebook project lately says that yes, all those actors are under consideration and were all present for a table read with Fincher and casting person Laray Mayfield, however none are set in stone, and one that we won't mention by name wasn't exactly loved by the notoriously picky director." Thank goodness, because I really don't want to see Eisenberg ruining this movie! Thoughts?
