Mike Judge Talks the Return of Beavis and Butt-Head?

Writer and director Mike Judge's comedic mind is a rare commodity.  He captured the voice of a generation with the now decade old cult classic Office Space.  But before that Judge was already the talk of the small screen (really an entire generation) as the creator, writer, director, producer and vocal talent for the crudely hilarious 90's animated series "Beavis and Butt-Head."  In its prime the series hit the big screen in the feature length film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.  Now 13 years later there might still be a chance we'll see the dim-witted duo return to the big screen, or at least that's what Judge said in a recent interview.

Our friends at CinemaBlend caught up with Judge while he was promoting his new comedy Extract (which ironically enough, Beavis and Butt-Head have been promoting, too) and he certainly hasn't ruled out the possibility of a reunion of sorts. "I don't ever want to close the door on that. I feel like they're always still there. If I did do another movie, I wouldn't think of it as a sequel, it's just another." While that's far from a confirmation or an official announcement, it's good to hear the potential isn't out of sight. "I keep wanting to do something with them being like old, in their 60s, two dirty old men sitting on a couch," Judge said.

Judge even has some ideas about what the Metallica & AC/DC loving slackers would be doing. "A while back, I was thinking, God it would be so fun to just have them working tech support. The guy who I co-wrote the first draft of Idiocracy with, Etan Cohen, the whole time we were working on that script, we kept getting distracted thinking of 'Beavis and Butthead' stuff."  Just the thought of another Beavis and Butt-Head flick is fun in itself but bringing Etan Cohen (writer of Tropic Thunder) on board as a writer would get me super pumped.  We'll keep you posted on any further updates, but until then keep your fingers crossed. Excited?
