Badass Short TV Spot for James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin
September 9, 2009
by Alex Billington
A badass short 30-second TV spot for James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin has appeared online in high def recently and it's a definite must watch. I've actually seen the movie and I can guarantee that it has some awesome fight scenes, as hinted at in the footage. This TV spot may even be better than the first trailer, since it just gets right into the ninja action, which is all anyone cares about with this movie. The story isn't the greatest, but you know what, who cares, its got some amazing visuals, and it's fun as hell to watch. I'll be hyping this as much as I can because it has a bad release date (Thanksgiving) and because I love McTeigue.
Watch this badass TV spot for Ninja Assassin:
A young ninja turns his back on the orphanage that raised him, leading to a confrontation with the clan.
Ninja Assassin is directed by Australian filmmaker James McTeigue, who previously worked as the first assistant director for all three Matrix movies and Speed Racer and also directed V for Vendetta himself. The screenplay was co-written by newcomer Matthew Sand and comic book veteran J. Michael Straczynski, of the "Babylon 5" TV show and the script for Clint Eastwood's Changeling previously as well as the Silver Surfer movie. Warner Brothers is finally bringing Ninja Assassin to theaters on November 25th this year.

The visuals were amazing but that guy doing the voice-over is the same guy who did the Dragonball Evolution trailers. It's hard to take him serious after that bombshell of a movie.

the guy you talking about is Randall Duk Kim yes he was in Dragonball Evolution but he did not do the voice over for the trailer. he was the best part in Dragonball Evolution anyway plus you forgot he starred in The Matrix Reloaded.

I would really want to see this if it wasn't for the over the top CGI with fake looking flying stars, chains and flails everywhere. I like a movie to look real even if it isn't which this one is like 1/2 awesome 1/2 cheesy CGI looking at that takes me completely out of the movie.

The TV spot is better than the trailer! Cannot wait for this one. Looks like the most legit Ninja movie yet. Extremely badass. Rains character even uses a weapon that is traditionally ninja: Kusari-Gama. Definitely watching this one opening day.

Nothing like a bit of Pendulum's The Tempest to get you in the mood. Surprise more trailers don't use it.
