Halle Berry Cast in Great White Shark Thriller 'Dark Tide'
September 9, 2009
by Alex Billington
Is Shark Week over yet? I love shark movies, everything from Jaws to Deep Blue Sea. I've been waiting to see that Meg movie, but since that probably won't be happening for a long time, I'll settle for this. Variety reports that Halle Berry has joined the cast of a new action-thriller titled Dark Tide. She will play a diving instructor who returns to the deep after a near-fatal incident with a Great White shark. Unfortunately this guy probably won't be a genetically enhanced shark (like in Deep Blue Sea), but I have feeling it will be as life-like as they can make it, adding more thrill to the experience. Shooting will start later this year.
The screenplay for Dark Tide was written by newcomer Amy Sorlie and also developed by literary manager Sukee Chew. SWAT and The Sentinel director Clark Johnson will be directing with Twilight producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey developing via their Temple Hill production company. I'm really not a fan of Halle Berry anymore and wouldn't have even cared about this if it weren't for the shark side of it. I'm in need of a good shark movie and unfortunately Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus just doesn't cut it. Who knows if Dark Tide will be focused more on the shark or more on her trauma, but I'll be keeping an eye on it!

come on now Alex… she is not that bad of a actor. i'm not a huge fan of her, but i thought she did pretty good in swordfish and perfect stranger. i personally think her worst movie was catwoman by far.

If she must be hired to work I suppose a job that requires her to be on water is prefered. Don't want her behind the wheel of a car and have any more hit and runs.

Guess the sharks in this movie like dark meat. Naw, just kidding sorry couldn't reist.
Oh and yea #2 Catwoman was utter trash, whoever concevied that crap should be forced to lick dog shit off of a dead beggar's boots on a daily basis. Halle does have nice assets though. At least she aint hard on the eyes.

Oh and yea Alex that Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus movie was total shit. Its like the plots to these sort of movies are written by people who are totally stoned, I mean in this movie the damn shark jumped out of the water and attack a damn airplane. I would rather masterbate with sandpaper than sit through that shit again.

Hmm, I was excited at the prospect of another good shark film, but the director doesnt spark much enthusiasm.
Alex, if you're in need of some news about upcoming shark films, then I suggest you keep your eyes peeled for this - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320291/ - there's a poster online somewhere too.
