Sharlto Confirmed for A-Team, Jessica Biel Also Joining
September 15, 2009

One of the most interesting casting news stories of last week was about District 9's Sharlto Copley joining the cast of Joe Carnahan's A-Team movie. As Sharlto's big follow-up to D9, it was a very interesting casting choice. I admit that I was hoping it was all false because he deserves to move on to bigger and better, but it turns out it's the truth. THR has confirmed today that Sharlto is indeed "in negotiations" to join the cast as "Howling Mad" Murdock. Also joining the A-Team cast is Jessica Biel in the lead female role as Faceman's former lover, "an Army general who is now pursuing the team." Production begins this fall in Vancouver.
Murdock, for those who didn't watch the original 80's A-Team TV show, was "the wild card of the group," the Army's best chopper pilot who also suffers from, in an over-the-top manner, delusions, memory loss, and hallucinations. Sounds like a good role for Sharlto (at least considering he did great in D9 with similar issues), despite my concern over this being his follow-up to such a great performance. Ridley and Tony Scott are producing this, which also gives me some hope, because I'm not a big fan of Carnahan (hated Smokin' Aces). I'm cautiously optimistic right now - I want it to be awesome, but I'll wait to see more from it first.

Faceman is "an Army general who is now pursuing the team"? Did I read that right? Face is PART of the team.
I'm confused.

How about seeing Madea and Fred Sanford going at it! Can you imagine Fred Sanford saying this to Madea? Madea! To this very day! Doctors don’t know what you are! But your birth certificate Cleary says! Very large and very ugly!

This is already far fetched, there aren't any women generals in the army. They can only be nurses or secretaries.
