Wilson Brothers Reteaming for a Buddy Comedy About Reporters

When everyone goes to see Drew Barrymore's Whip It (which everyone better do) later this year, one of the most memorable appearances will be that of Andrew Wilson, one of the three Wilson brothers who hasn't been in anything since Mike Judge's Idiocracy. MTV caught up with Andrew in Toronto to talk about Whip It but ended up getting an interesting scoop about another new project called Electric Avenue (not to be confused with Eddy Grant's song) that he will direct and his brother Luke Wilson will be starring in. "I'm gonna direct again. Luke and I are going to do something… called Electric Avenue starting [next year]."
Andrew wouldn't reveal who else is in the cast yet, but did say at least that it'll star his brother Luke Wilson. MTV thinks it could be the third brother, Owen Wilson, but I don't buy that just yet. So what is Electric Avenue even about? "It's kind of like a 48 Hrs.-type buddy comedy. Except instead of cops, they're reporters," Wilson revealed. For reference, 48 Hrs. was a buddy comedy starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy about a cop who "reluctantly teams up with a wise-cracking criminal temporarily paroled to him, in order to track down a killer." So just imagine something like that, but with two reporters, instead of cops.
Being a "reporter" of sorts myself, this is just exciting. Plus the last great comedy about reporters that I can think of, that even starred Luke Wilson, was Anchorman. And if this is even remotely similar to that, then I'm already looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll find out more soon, but for now, let the speculation begin!

yeah it's not like he's above these types of dumb comedies (Shanghai movies, You me and Dupree, Drillbit Taylor, etc.)

All this is fabulous but i just have one question: Andrew when are you going to pay the $300 in parking fines you owe on the Volvo that was towed from Marina Del Rey ,Ca when you left it parked in a street sweeping zone for weeks on end? The car bought by your good friend ,my husband; on your request because you never had insurance or even a licence. Take responsibility, grow up and pay up.
