Official Trailer for Adam Salky's Sundance Dramedy 'Dare'
September 29, 2009

Image Entertainment has debuted the trailer on Apple for Adam Salky's Dare, a coming-of-age teenage drama from Sundance earlier this year. Dare stars the always beautiful Emmy Rossum (seen above right), Zach Gilford (seen above left), and Ashley Springer as three high school friends who all take things a bit too far. It's a kinky and quirky dramedy (and I'm using those words accurately this time) that I don't think is for everyone, but it is a good indie film. I saw it at Sundance and just started thinking about it again recently because its grown on me quite a bit over the last 9 months. If you're curious, then check it out below.

When an actor tells good girl Alexa that she hasn't lived, she embarks on a bold journey that takes her to bad boy Johnny. Envious, her shy best friend Ben also dares to pursue Johnny, complicating things.
Dare is directed by first-time feature filmmaker Adam Salky. The screenplay was written by first-time writer David Brind. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It was eventually picked up by indie distributor Image Entertainment for release. Dare is now being released in very limited theaters starting on November 13th later this year. I actually suggest checking it out if you liked this trailer at all.

good to see Emmy Rossum doing a interesting film she needs to distance herself from that good awful Dragonball: Evolution.

this looks like a complete and formulaic waste of time.

Emmy Rossum be in sum good movies, what is this, c'mon, she should raise the barrier in her acting i know she can do it. How about a twin flick, one she is a pure badass, and other a sweet next door girl, one gets separated from one of her parent and another. Their lives are miserable and they try to commit suicide. Fail and swap places. ….
Ur Thoughts ppl???

When are film makers going to learn that their drama school days (and I've been to one) are not as compelling as they think they are. Actors are not interesting people. That is why they make a living playing other people.

Is this a remake of "Love Me if You Dare", that twisted romantic comedy from France a few years back? Emmy Rossum even looks like Marion Cottilard in your posted pic.

I saw this at Sundance as well. I liked it and thought it was done very well. There was only one thing that I didn't like about the film, and I don't want to give away any spoilers or anything, so I won't say what it was. But it was a good flick, and I would recommend going to see it as well.

I'd definitely go see this. After the horrible Post-Grad and Dragonball: Evolution, these actors need to show that they keep getting jobs for a reason.

Complete and utter garbage. Terrible concept. Honestly super tired of seeing these movies where people discover there homosexuality in new and interesting ways. Fucking shoot me (I am not a bigot)
