Awesome TV Spot for Pixar's Toy Story & Toy Story 2 in 3D
I can't wait for this! As much as I've been enjoying every last minute of this epic 28-day film festival tour, I'm excited to settle down and watch some of my personal faves. I'm even wearing my Pixar shirt today (coincidence?). Anyway, this TV spot for Pixar's re-release of Toy Story / Toy Story 2 in glorious 3D in October is just too awesome to pass up. I love that Pixar has gone back and created entirely new footage just for promotional purposes. Isn't it great to see all your favorite toys back up on the big screen again? Oh and special thanks to TheMovieBox for pulling this off and putting online for our viewing pleasure. Check it!

Toronto 2009 Review: J Blakeson's Disappearance of Alice Creed
What a way to end this festival! After hearing some fairly good reviews, I decided to catch J Blakeson's The Disappearance of Alice Creed as my final film of the festival, my 22nd here in Toronto. This film has such a great concept. I wouldn't call it brilliant or groundbreaking, but it's pretty damn unique. It stars only three people. It starts with two men who buy supplies and fortify an apartment for what looks to be a prison for someone they're about to kidnap and rape. A gruesome start, but there are plenty of twists and turns. They nab a girl, put her in the back of a van, bring her to the apartment, chain her up, and then we're off.

Dick Cook's Exit from Disney Leaves Johnny Depp Worried
Yesterday Nikki Finke and THR confirmed that Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook was stepping down after working at the company for 38 years. For those not familiar with him, Dick Cook was one of the best executives to run that company in recent years. He established numerous beneficial connections and was a friend to many powerful people. It was a shocking and surprising announcement and no one knows who will replace him yet (which is also a big concern). However, his sudden departure may have quite an impact, as it seems there might already be a backlash in the industry that may hurt the studio in big ways.

First Look: The New A-Team Van Being Chased Around Canada
Yep, there it is, kickin' up dust and driving around the Canadian backcountry. Splash News has landed the first few photos of the iconic black van from The A-Team being chased around British Columbia, Canada. Yes, we already know who's in the cast, yes we already know that this is shooting, yes we already know that Joe Carnahan is directing, and yes, now we know the van is back. There's really nothing more to say about this. I mean, it's a van, and it's supposedly got the A-Team in the back of it, but they're probably not there in this shot. Splash ends this the best: "There's no catching this testosterone-fueled, four-wheeled hellcat."

Toronto 2009 Review: Tim Blake Nelson's Leaves of Grass
This has been an unusually great year for dual roles in films. There's Sam Rockwell in Moon and Michael Cera in Youth in Revolt. But one of my favorite dual role films is already Leaves of Grass, which I saw up here at the Toronto Film Festival at its world premiere. The film stars two Edward Nortons (as brothers) and is directed by one Tim Blake Nelson (who also has a role in the film as well). It's a down-home kind of story set in Oklahoma about these two brothers and their family. Not only does it have quite a few good laughs, but it packs a punch in terms of action and story, and is a great bit of entertainment overall.

RealD Promises Designer 3D Glasses Will Be Ready by Avatar
While there are many complaints about 3D, one I hear often is about how uncomfortable the glasses are. If you see a 3D movie with RealD technology, they usually hand out disposable cheap plastic 3D glasses that are pretty ugly. For a long time, companies like RealD and 3D advocates like Jeffrey Katzenberg have been pushing for custom designer 3D glasses that you buy and keep on you and bring every time you go see a 3D movie would be coming soon. At the on-going 3D Entertainment Summit, RealD founder Michael Lewis finally said that designer glasses will be available "in certain outlets" before Avatar opens in December.

Must Watch: Badass Trailer for Michael Caine's Harry Brown!
Whoa! You thought John Travolta looked like a badass in From Paris with Love? Just wait until you see Michael Caine kicking some thug ass in this trailer for Harry Brown! A few of you may remember seeing some photos from this way back in February. A trailer appeared on the official website recently and it pretty much confirms exactly what I thought - this looks awesome. Unfortunately I missed seeing it in Toronto, but hope to catch it sometime very soon. It looks like Michael Caine is bringing us his version of Death Wish at the age of 76. Like the quote in the trailer, this proves he can still kick plenty of ass, no matter how old he is!

First Logo Unveiled for Jackie Chan's Karate Kid Remake
It looks like Sony is still going back-n-forth on whether they want to call this Karate Kid remake The Karate Kid or The Kung Fu Kid, as it was supposedly retitled to. Maybe they're concerned about losing some brand recognition by changing the name. Anyway, considering they've starting shooting in China, it's not a surprise that some details and photos have started to leak out. SlashFilm discovered the first official title treatment for the film hidden on some Sony site. It's not that impressive but it is a cool first look at the film, in addition to that photo at the top of Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith working on some kung fu training.

Check This Out: The Fourth Kind's Creepy Abduction Poster
Unlike the official poster for Paranormal Activity, this new poster for The Fourth Kind is actually pretty damn cool. I love that they used some design that looks pretty creepy displayed. It should definitely attract the attention of movie theater patrons, unlike that Paranormal Activity poster, which just has a still from the movie and a bunch of text. I'm comparing the two because they're both creepy thrillers with home video footage. And while I'm excited for The Fourth Kind, I haven't seen it yet, I'm scared by aliens, and probably won't see it because of that, but this poster is impressive. Thanks to JoBlo for debuting it - check it out!

Second Full Teaser for Fox's Percy Jackson & the Olympians
A second longer teaser trailer for Fox's Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has arrived. It apparently was found on the Wolverine DVD and it's the teaser they should've played in front of Harry Potter. If you remember back during the summer, this first teaser trailer was attached to Half-Blood Prince, and because it was so Potter-like and vague, it left audiences confused, especially because not that many people are familiar with this series of books. However, I'll admit that I'm now much more curious, enough to call it worth watching. I'm not a fan of director Chris Columbus, but this looks like it'll be fun?

Interview: Cloudy Writers/Directors Phil Lord & Chris Miller
Sitting down with both Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the co-writers and co-directors of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, was a real pleasure. Their distinct and pervasive love for cinema is immediately apparent. Their love for creating stories that are just a bit obtuse helped them to create the TV series Clone High and then write for How I Met Your Mother. And after six years, Cloudy is finally coming out in theatres everywhere. Below, you can listen in as we talked a bit about their inspirations, the process of adapting a childrens' story, and what it's like to direct and collaborate with over five hundred people.

Brandon's Word: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a Feast
Six years ago, co-directors Philip Lord and Chris Miller started writing the animated adaptation of Judi and Ron Barrett's classic children's story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Three and a half years ago, Lord and Miller and, by their account, around five hundred others began bringing that script to life. Well, come September 18th, the story of a young inventor who turns water into food hits theaters everywhere. And, my word, what a smorgasbord of delicacies this animated film is!
The Barretts' book remains one of my most fond memories. Its spine cracked so that each page was able to
