'Lost' and 'Mad Men' Stars Join The Adjustment Bureau
October 2, 2009
by Ethan Anderton
Back in July it was announced that Matt Damon and Emily Blunt would star in The Adjustment Bureau, a movie based on yet another Philip K. Dick short story. The late writer seems to have a treasure trove of film friendly stories, and while you may not know him by name, if you've seen Minority Report, Total Recall, or Blade Runner then you've seen the cinematic re-tellings of three of nine adaptations of his work. THR reports that Daniel Dae Kim (of ABC's "Lost"), John Slattery (of AMC's "Mad Men") and Michael Kelly (of HBO's "Generation Kill") will be joining Blunt and Damon in George Nolfi's directorial debut.
The Adjustment Bureau "centers on a congressman (Damon), on the rise in politics, who meets a beautiful ballet dancer (Blunt) only to discover that a strange organization is keeping them apart." Slattery will be one of the higher-ups in the bureau while Kim will play a mysterious employee. Kelly will play the best friend and campaign manager to the rising congressman. Nolfi will start shooting in New York this fall. Count me interested for any adaptation of PKD's stories. The future as seen in Dick's stories (or at least in the films based on them) is so engaging that I can't help but get caught up in every detail of the story. Good cast?

I love PKD's books reading Vulcans Hammer and just finished Dr Futurity.
There aren't enough (decent) adaptions of his books and I will look forward
to this

It's all about what the Scanner sees…clearly? Or darkly? Love that film. Got to see Blade Runner uncompressed digital at WB, best theater experience ever.

so far the best adaption of a PKD book are A Scanner Darkly and Blade Runner and so far this one is looking pretty good.
