Adrienne Shelly's Serious Moonlight Trailer with Meg Ryan

Magnolia Pictures has debuted the official trailer for Serious Moonlight, the last screenplay written by the late Adrienne Shelly (Sudden Manhattan, Waitress) directed by her friend and actress Cheryl Hines. This comedy stars Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell, and Justin Long, all of whom are playing roles which they don't seem to fit (where was the casting director on this?). I wanted to give this a chance, but sadly, it just looks bad, bad, bad. And I'm guessing that has to do more with Cheryl Hines' directing than it does Adrienne Shelly's script. And also no one likes Meg Ryan anymore and she isn't funny in this at all.

A dark comedy about a high-powered attorney who discovers that her husband is leaving her for another younger woman and duct tapes him to the toilet to talk right before their home is invaded by burglars.
Serious Moonlight is directed by actress Cheryl Hines, who is making her directorial debut with this indie. The screenplay was written by the late Adrienne Shelly (Sudden Manhattan, Waitress), a New York City based screenwriter who was tragically killed in her apartment in 2006. Magnolia Pictures will be bringing Serious Moonlight to limited theaters starting on December 4th this fall. Anyone planning on seeing it?

Is this seriously a movie? I don't think I've seen anything so bad….well, I probably have, but not recent enough I can remember. Wtf did they offer these people to make them do this movie?
I hate Meg Ryan anyway. Her face looks pretty bad.

Ouch, the years have not been good to Meg Ryan, and I assume she had a few more surgeries.
It's weird seeing her playing a supposedly tough and cynical character when she was everybody's darling forever.
Looks really bad.

I feel like I'd want my money back if this was shown for free on a flight.

I'm getting more and more worried for Kristen Bell.

I feel like I want my money back for watching that trailer!
The title is a reference to David Bowie's "Let's Dance" by the way. That's about the best thing about this.

I can't even bring myself to hit play…Meg Ryan should just apply for a position at Pier 1 Imports and leave movies behind her.

Wow, isn't it a little early for the Jennifer Aniston biography movie?

the movie does indeed look very bad. but my biggest question from the trailer is : what happened to meg ryans face??!! it looks like plastic surgery gone horribly wrong.

I liked Waitress, it was very good movie, and I was very sorry to hear about Adrienne Shelly. And I also like this trailer, it's a chick flick, but it looks interesting enough to waste two hours to watch it. I would go to this with my girlfriend, with no shame at all.

Suicidaloptimist…..watch Addicted to Love to see Meg Ryan play a tough and cynical character before she messed her face up so bad. It's a bummer she did whatever it was she did…she just looks pissed off all the time.
The trailer doesn't look too awful to me. I'll probably see it for the heck of it. Funny for them to team up again since French Kiss.

This looks very dull and bleak

You mean the woman who used to look like Meg Ryan before all the awful plastic surgery. And with her romcom roles usurped by younger actresses and her serious roles a joke she's got nowhere to go.

Is it me or does the phrase "I'm going to Paris" bring back another movie with these two, dealing with the same plot…"French Kiss"? Come on Meg, you can do better….
