Casting Tidbits: Jessica Biel, James Caan, Anne Heche & More
October 28, 2009

Casting Tidbits ahoy! First up, Variety reports that Anne Heche has tacked on two promising comedies to her upcoming roster. Heche has nabbed the female lead opposite Ed Helms in the Fox Searchlight comedy Cedar Rapids about a sad-sack insurance agent who goes to an industry convention to try to save the jobs of his colleagues but ends up finding a charming friend in Anne Heche's character. In addition, she has also taken on a small part in Adam McKay's action comedy The Other Guys, where her character hires Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg's characters to investigate financial losses at her company. Henry's Crime
Variety reports that James Caan and Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air) will be joining Keanu Reeves in the romantic comedy about a big-hearted man (Reeves) who is falsely accused of robbing a bank in Buffalo, New York. But after the doing the time and not the crime, he decides that it just might be a good idea to actually rob the bank upon his release from prison. Farmiga will be playing Reeves' love interest, but no word on what role Caan will be taking. The biggest crime in this movie will probably be the lack of a trademark Keanu Reeves, "Whoa." Malcolm Venville (44 Inch Chest) is directing.
F***ing Engaged
Yep, you read that title correctly, and making this raunchy project all the more tantalizing (at least for the men) is THR's report that Jessica Biel is not only producing but starring in this sexual comedy about a couple who make a pact to have sex every day leading to their wedding so they don't turn into their crusty old parents. No mention of who's directing yet from rookie screenwriter Julia Brownell, but whoever will be at the helm should know that it would be best for Jessica Biel to be fully naked simply for realism.
That's all the Casting Tidbits we've got for now. Stay tuned for more updates as they come through the wire!
