Zach Galifianakis and Amy Adams Have a New 'Town House'
October 28, 2009

While the Writer's Guild strike in the later part of 2007 stalled a plethora of productions, many of them were able to get back on their feet once the strike had subsided. However, there are still some that fell through the cracks and have yet to pick-up the momentum they had before the strike. This is no longer the case for one such project as Variety reports that Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) and Amy Adams (Julie & Julia) have joined Town House, a dramatic comedy (because I hate the word dramedy) from producers Ridley and Tony Scott and Once director John Carney who wrote the script with Doug Wright.
The story is loosely based on Tish Cohen's debut novel about an agoraphobic man (Galifianakis), who passes the time with his son in a historic Boston townhouse passed down to him from his deceased rock star father. When his inheritance begins to run out, he's force to re-evaluate his life and take some responsibility as a call girl (Adams) strikes up an unlikely friendship with him. Galifianakis is in high demand right now having been recently cast in Dinner for Schmucks and It's Kind of a Funny Story and Adams just finished her work in David O. Russell's The Fighter alongside Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg. I'm very interested to see the chemistry between these two in a film that will surely test Galifianakis on the dramatic front. Stay tuned!

We're really going to be able to judge Zach come next year. He is paired with some great comedic and overall actors. If he is the real deal, we'll know after next year.

He seems to be doing good in a more dramatic role on Bored to Death.
Love Amy Adams, will literally see anything she is in, so I'm already there.
