Awesome Trailer for Russian Flying Car Film Black Lightning
Wow this looks frickin' awesome! Black Lightning is a Russian film produced by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov. We last wrote about it back in March when we featured some of the early concept art for the film, which is about an old school flying Volga. Timur apparently said at one point that this is the "Russian response [to] Transformers and Batman," which means this should be very interesting to see. Since then they've released a few teaser trailers and now, thanks to Quiet Earth, the first full-length trailer has arrived, unfortunately still in Russian. But damn does it look great, especially for a Russian feature. Check it out!

The Tourist May Finally Be Moving Forward With a New Director
This production has gone through lots of changes, but I guess that's Hollywood for you! Variety has run another update on The Tourist, the Hollywood remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer. Back when it was first announced years ago, Tom Cruise was attached to star, then Charlize Theron joined the project as his co-star. Eventually Cruise dropped out to do Wichita, replaced by Sam Worthington. And then Theron dropped out, replaced by none other than Angelina Jolie. With her on-board, the project has gained momentum, and they're close to securing a director and finally shooting (if all goes as planned, of course).

Scott Derrickson Directing Lakeshore's Thriller The Living
After last directing Fox's The Day the Earth Stood Still remake from last year, Scott Derrickson has been hired by Lakeshore Entertainment to direct the supernatural suspense thriller The Living. The project is based on an original pitch from Derrickson and producer Paul Harris Boardman. Derrickson last worked with Lakeshore to direct The Exorcism of Emily Rose back in 2005, a film which seemed to be well received in the horror community. Unfortunately, the exact plot details of The Living are being kept under wraps for the time being, though with a title like that I'm curious to find out more. Hopefully we'll know more soon.

Brian Lynch's Nightcrawlers Script Returns as Monster Squad
Way back in 2000, screenwriter / comic writer Brian Lynch (on Twitter as @BrianLynch) sold a spec script for a supernatural action comedy called Nightcrawlers to Warner Brothers. McG eventually got attached to direct, but the project never went anywhere. Now THR announces that Nightcrawlers is back under a new title - Monster Squad. Sadly, the project has nothing to do with the original 1987 classic horror film The Monster Squad directed by Fred Dekker, they're just borrowing the title, since it's about a neurotic father who must turn to a childhood tormentor to face his fear of the dark and the monsters who haunt him.

Indie Trailer Sunday: Stop-Animated Indie 'Mary and Max'
I'm excited today to feature the newest official trailer (via New York Times) for Adam Elliot's Mary and Max, an incredibly unique and original stop animated film from Australia. You may remember hearing the name before, as this was the Opening Night film at Sundance this year (read my thoughts on it), where it gained a lot of acclaim, but never got picked up. The more I think back to it, the more I remember loving it. Watching this trailer again especially reminds me that it's one of those great indies that you've never seen anything like and probably won't see again. So without further ado, check out the Mary and Max trailer.

Lee Daniels Wants to Bring Miss Saigon to the Big Screen Soon
Lee Daniels is another name that most of you probably don't know yet, although we're hoping to change that by February next year. If you've seen the trailers or heard about the film Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, that's the film that Lee Daniels most recently directed. I have a good feeling that if everything stays the same, not only will we see Precious getting a Best Picture nomination, but I expect Lee Daniels will be nominated as well. Anyway, our friends at ComingSoon asked Daniels what he's planning to do next and he revealed that he's interested in bringing the stage musical Miss Saigon to the big screen.

Rumor: Jude Law and Robert De Niro Cast in Marvel's Thor?
I'm not sure why there are so many superhero related casting rumors hitting this weekend, but they're all too good to pass up, and most of them seem like they could end up being true. AICN has another casting scoop this time from an interview with actor Matthias Schweighöfer (seen in Valkyrie and The Red Baron) in the German edition of GQ who reveals two big names related to Marvel's Thor movie. Matthias said that not only is he in the running for a role in Thor, but that Jude Law and Robert De Niro have apparently already joined the cast. But in what roles? No one can seem to figure out who either of them would play.

Plot Details for M. Night Shyamalan's Devil Finally Uncovered
If you want to stay completely fresh on this project, then you should stop reading. But if you want to know just a little bit more about what happens in this, not enough to ruin the experience, but enough to get you interested, then keep on reading. Most of what is said will be revealed in the first trailer anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. Earlier this week it was announced that Chris Messina would star in Devil, an M. Night Shyamalan produced project and the first film in his Night Chronicles series. John Erick and Drew Dowdle (of The Poughkeepsie Tapes) are directing from a script written by Brian Nelson. Read on to find out!

Lauren Shuler Donner Wants X-Men: First Class To Be Dark & Funny
We've heard plenty before from producer Lauren Shuler Donner about what to expect for every X-Men movie coming up and other Marvel projects like Wolverine 2 and Deadpool. So at first glance, I wasn't too excited by what she had to say to Empire this time. Then I came across her quotes on X-Men: First Class which seemed to address my exact concerns expressed in some recent articles. Basically she says they want First Class to "not be a kiddie movie" but instead be darker and funny, like the recent Harry Potter movies. Of course, with the most recent one making over $300 million, everyone wants to be like that. Read on!

Rumor: Jackie Earle Haley as Sinestro in Green Lantern?
He's played Rorschach and Freddy Krueger, now he'll play Sinestro in Green Lantern?! Unless you're a Green Lantern fan, you probably don't know who Sinestro is, but we'll explain all that. AICN is reporting a rumor (take this with a grain of salt) that actor Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as Sinestro, the lead villain, in the Green Lantern movie being directed by Martin Campbell and co-starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. Not only that, but they say that Superman has a cameo in it as well (the character, not Brandon Routh). Though I'm not sure if I can believe all this yet. If it's true, then this is some seriously great casting.

Sound Off: Where the Wild Things Are - What Did You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? This is a movie that has been anxiously anticipated by moviegoers for a very long time. Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are, a beautiful adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book, finally hits theaters everywhere this weekend, so without further ado, let the wild rumpus start! After waiting this long, though, is it any good? Is it as amazing as the trailers have made it look? Is there even a good story since there wasn't much of one in the book? What did you think? Sound off below, leave a comment, and let us know what you thought of Where the Wild Things Are!

Don't Watch: Trailer for Jackie Chan in The Spy Next Door
There's a reason why this is being dumped in January - because it looks as bad as if not worse than the atrocious Paul Blart: Mall Cop. The Spy Next Door is a new comedy from Lionsgate (wait, I thought they made horror movies?) starring Jackie Chan and, well, a bunch of annoying kids. This looks like it may be one of the worst movies of next year. It's got a bunch of stupid CGI spy toys, the obligatory and racist fight at Benihana, all kinds of cheesy physical comedy and other stupid gags. Really, this is the bottom of the barrel of the comedy world. But just like Paul Blart, it's probably going to a lot of money. Damn you, Lionsgate!
