Alec Baldwin Doesn't Have Any Interest in Acting Anymore

Alec Baldwin

He's been nominated for Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, an Academy Award and received several Emmy nominations and even wins for his work on NBC's hilarious series "30 Rock." But apparently that's just not cutting it as Alec Baldwin told Men's Journal (via THR) that he doesn't "have any interest in acting anymore." To make this even more depressing, he says: "I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. The goal of movie-making is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that." It's very sad, but essentially true.

Tron Legacy's Joe Kosinski Remaking Disney's The Black Hole

The Black Hole

No one has seen any footage from Tron Legacy yet (it won't be done for another year anyway), but it seems the execs at Disney are quite happy with what they've seen so far. THR's Heat Vision blog announces that director Joseph Kosinski and producer Sean Bailey, who are currently finishing Tron Legacy together, will next remake Disney's 1979 sci-fi film The Black Hole. This new version will be a "reinvention" (or a reboot or whatever you want to call it) and is being written by Travis Beacham, who worked on the Clash of the Titans script. This is one of the first projects put into development at Disney by new exec Rich Ross.

Richard LaGravenese Adapting 'Beautiful Creatures' Novel

Beautiful Creatures / Richard LaGravenese

Every other week until Deathly Hallows hits theaters we'll probably be hearing about some new potential Harry Potter replacement. Even though there are still two more years until the final Potter movie arrives, studios are starting to setup projects that to fill the "coming-of-age wizard" genre that will be left open once that franchise comes to an end. Variety reports that Warner Brothers has hired Richard LaGravenese, of P.S. I Love You and Freedom Writers, to write and direct an adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's novel Beautiful Creatures. The book just hit shelves and is about a young witch named Lena Duchannes.

Silver Surfer Spin-Off Movie Isn't Dead, Still Being Developed

Silver Surfer

A week or so ago, screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski, who had been writing a Silver Surfer spin-off screenplay for Fox, told Collider in an interview that "if they do a Silver Surfer film down the road, it'll have to be its own separate thing." The way he answered the question caused most news websites to report that the Silver Surfer spin-off movie was dead mainly because Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer didn't do as well as Fox wanted. However, Straczynski emailed Latino Review and explained that it's not dead at all, and Fox is just going a different route and having someone else write a script for them instead of using his.

Rob Marshall's Musical Nine Gets One Final Theatrical Trailer

Nine Trailer

The Weinstein Company has released another trailer for Rob Marshall's musical Nine, which was derived from an Italian play by Mario Fratti which was inspired by Federico Fellini's autobiographical film . This new trailer is a bit more conventional than the previous two in that it finally gives us a bit of insight into the plot of the film as well as a variety of songs showcasing the talents of Fergie, Penelope Cruz, and more. But still no display of Daniel Day-Lewis' musical chops. Oscar bait or not, a musical based on Federico Fellini's is something that I can't stop looking forward to when it's released this Christmas. Fire this trailer up!

The Crazies Goes Viral - Save Ogden Marsh from Toxic Waste

Save Ogden Marsh

We haven't really seen a good viral kick off in a while, so this is kind of exciting to see another one start up. There's nothing going on with Tron Legacy viral at the moment and with District 9 almost out on DVD, that one has wrapped up as well. Thanks to our friends at MovieViral though, we've got a lot of new details on the viral for The Crazies remake. A few people I know are very excited for this movie primarily based on the first trailer that hit in October, but if you love viral marketing, you might want to check this out as well. The central site this time is the Save Ogden Marsh blog and Twitter account that have revealed more websites.

Official Teaser Poster for Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 Revealed!

Iron Man 2 Poster

Paramount has debuted the first official teaser poster for Iron Man 2 this afternoon over on Yahoo. Jon Favreau tipped us off via Twitter that this would be debuting and it's a beauty. I wasn't overly fond of the final Iron Man posters they used on the first movie, I just thought there was too much going on, but this one is sleek and sexy and just plain awesome. This also shows that they're certainly going to be giving us lots of War Machine in this sequel. They're definitely off to a good start with the marketing on Iron Man 2 so far. Don't forget that we should also be seeing a trailer for Iron Man 2 in front of Sherlock Holmes. Take a look!

Tarantino Says Kill Bill 3 Isn't Next & Will Have a Newer Title

Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill

We all saw this coming. Even though it was widely reported in early October that Quentin Tarantino had made a promise on an Italian talk show that "the Bride [would] fight again," it's not exactly going to be his next project. We can't forget that this is Tarantino, and he says these kind of things all the time and hypes up projects for years and years (just look how long it took Inglourious Basterds to get made). MTV talked with Tarantino recently and got him to clarify the situation regarding Kill Bill Vol. 3. "I won't do that next, but it could very well be the thing I do after next," Tarantino explained. So don't start getting excited yet.

First Official Look: Jaden Smith & Jackie Chan in The Karate Kid

The Karate Kid

Although we already featured the logo artwork (seen above) and a shot of Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan doing some fight training together on set a few months ago, this is the first official photo from Sony's The Karate Kid remake. This shot comes from People mag with a little blurb and some quotes from both Smith and Chan. "I trained every day for four months with Master Wu [the film's fight coordinator]," Jaden said. "We did a lot of stretching." Chan, who plays Mr. Han, the Mr. Miyagi-like character, also adds: "He took the training very seriously. I was very impressed with him." You can see the rather uninteresting photos below.

Ryan Reynolds Speaks About Green Lantern's Origin Story

Green Lantern / Martin Campbell

Just last week we heard from Ryan Reynolds (via MTV) and all the excitement he has about working with Martin Campbell on the DC Comics' adaptation of Green Lantern. But with no trailer, no pictures, nor even a simple teaser poster, we're all dying to hear something good about this potential new franchise that will be introducing the world to a superhero who has never made his way to the big screen before. Well now MTV has even more talk from the funnyman-turned-action-hero, with Reynolds giving some insights into the approach to Green Lantern as an origin story, and as a character who's more than just a masked hero.

Paul Greengrass Quits Bourne 4 Over Problems With Universal

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass

More problems with Universal, go figure, that studio is in the worst condition possible. And this isn't going to help. The Playlist is reporting that director Paul Greengrass has "quit" Bourne 4 over issues with the studio. It's a long and elaborate story but to sum it up, basically Greengrass wasn't happy that they hired a new screenwriter to develop a parallel script. And Universal isn't happy with Greengrass because he went way over budget on Green Zone and is apparently still spending money editing that. And because Universal is a bit finicky with their money right now (and are in desperate need of a huge hit), everything fell apart.

Robert Downey Jr. Definitely Had a Hand in Writing Iron Man 2

Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 2

It's no secret that actor Robert Downey Jr. had a hand in crafting the somewhat life-mirroring character of Tony Stark in Marvel's Iron Man. So it comes as no surprise that his involvement in writing Iron Man 2 was more than a fleeting instance. Director Jon Favreau recently told Empire (via WENN): "Robert is a real partner in the process. He's been very involved in the screenplay. When he went away to do Sherlock Holmes he was still part of our creative process." And if you're at all worried about an actor like Downey Jr. becoming heavily involved in the writing process of a property like this, read on to put your mind at ease.
