Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin in a New 'It's Complicated' Trailer
November 6, 2009

Universal has debuted yet another trailer for Nancy Meyers' It's Complicated, the adult comedy starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, and a whole handful of others. We featured the first trailer for this back in August. This new trailer is pretty much the same - it tells the same story, has most of the same footage, except for a few new scenes (like the nude one at the end). I don't want to get in too much trouble, so I won't say too many bad things about this. Sure, it looks fun, I'm sure lots of people will flock to theaters to see it on Christmas Day, but I'll be skipping it. This is one movie I will be very happy not seeing this year.
Watch the second trailer for Nancy Meyers' It's Complicated:

A comedy about love, divorce and everything in between. Jane is the mother of three grown kids, owns a restaurant/bakery and has an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, attorney Jake. But when Jane and Jake find themselves out of town for their son's college graduation, things start to get complicated.
It's Complicated is both written and directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Nancy Meyers, of The Parent Trap, What Women Want, Something's Gotta Give, and The Holiday from 2006 most recently. Universal is bringing It's Complicated to theaters everywhere on Christmas Day, December 25th. Will you see it?

"I don't want to get in too much trouble, so I won't say too many bad things about this."
This comment makes it sound like you're selling out Alex, I hope you still give your honest opinions regarding the films you recommend because if studio pressures are the reasons you build buzz then I don't know how to trust the site anymore.
Please elaborate as to the "trouble" your speaking of, thanks.

Thanks for clearing that up Alex, I read it as you'd get in trouble with the studio for bashing it.
My apologies

P.S. Who cares what the comments say about YOUR opinion, I'm here to read what you think of the flick, not to listen to jealous bloggers bitch at you.

Good to hear, I just know that studios can use their sly tactics of withholding perks (set visits, screening passes, SWAG, etc) to bloggers that don't play their game.

i don't know. i'm a 22 year old male and i thought this looked alright. i love steve martin and alec baldwin. and it's nice to see more of steve in adult comedies instead of the family film route he has been taking. i want more Shop Girl out of him. Maybe this one does play to a formula, but it isn't always as much about what you do as it is about how well you do it.

Surprisingly not bad. There were some funny lines in the movie. Still just a rental for me though.

It looks like the same trailer all over again with only a few new parts, with the same music. Maybe they didn't have any more interesting clips from the film?

Looks like an absolutely great movie. My honest non-sheep-following Canadian opinion.

Thinking like a 40/50 year old, this will be a knock out. Come on, every element is here for a blockbuster… including Steve Martin!

Hey #13, I think you're right it will be a blockbuster. It is the perfect mix of cast members. If none of the posters here are in your early 50's (as I am), of course you are going to hate it. The situations will probably go right over your heads (for now - wink).

So many actors I love! Doing everything they can to make me stop! This looks like the writer used a mad-lib book to fill in the plot(I accidentally typed "ploy" first, may have been better word choice). Even great acting from great actors can't save a formulaic piece of crap from the 3/$10 bin at Movie Gallery.

Nancy Meyers makes pretty decent movies. Overly self-indulgent and somewhat-long-than-necessary movies, but they are usually competent and every once in a while she can pull a couple of funny lines of dialogue out of her…
= )

@ 21, I don't think anyone's trying to talk you out of going to see it. Go, have fun. We hope you enjoy it. I'd be glad to see these actors have a successful film after a string of so-so box office performances from some of them. But I think a lot of us don't see what we're looking for in this movie, that's all.
the only exception is Meryl Streep, who I will be completely honest, I hate. Hate with a passion. I don't understand her appeal, and why she's considered a great actress. Everything she does feels the same to me. Oh, and I'm fairly certain she and Glenn Close are the same woman, they just trade out names for different roles, lol. But, as Dennis Miller used to like to say, back when he was still funny, that's just my opinion I could be wrong.

@22 Lemme guess - you like Julia Roberts and Keira Knightly. gag. Actually your disdain for Meryl Streep surprises me. So you think her work in Sophie's Choice is the same as her work in Ironweed? Granted I will say that the rolls that she has been offered or has chosen to play are very similar, but you have to admit that there are limited choices for actresses and very often they are pigeon holed in to a type.
