Indie Trailer Sunday: Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me

This trailer has been out for a few days now, but I thought it was the perfect trailer to feature today, not only because no one is at work on a Sunday, but because it's a great indie trailer. The Killer Inside Me is the latest film from British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom about a West Texas deputy sheriff who is slowly unmasked as a psychotic killer. Casey Affleck stars as the sheriff and is joined by Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Simon Baker, Elias Koteas, and Bill Pullman. I also need to warn everyone that this is a full-on 5 minute promo trailer which means it contains nudity, violence, sex, you name it. So don't watch it with the kids!

Sheriff Lou Ford (Casey Affleck) has a lot of problems. Woman problems. Law enforcement problems. An ever-growing pile of murder victims in his West Texas jurisdiction. And that he's a sadist, a psychopath, a killer. Suspicion soon begins to fall on Lou, and it's only a matter of time before he runs out of alibis.

The Killer Inside Me is directed by British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, of Butterfly Kiss, Wonderland, The Claim, 24 Hour Party People, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, The Road to Guantanamo, and A Mighty Heart. The script was written by director John Curran and is an adaptation of Jim Thompson's novel of the same name. This doesn't have a US distributor yet and is being sold by Wild Bunch. Stay tuned!

the fuck man, it looks pretty decent, could have done without the Alba spanking clip. It looks like a good thriller, I like seeing Casey Affleck as this kind of character, so I'm sold but sold in hopes that his character gets what he deserves.

Nice touch to use a piece from the Assassination of Jesse James. Does anybody recognise the music playing as he put the cigar out on the chap's hand? I've heard it before, but can't put a name to it!

the premise is great…………the acting?…..it's horrible.

if this is an accurate representation of the quality of the acting in the movie, i doubt i could sit through it.

Stunned that this is available on you tube……..must say the intensity of the scene where he is beating her to death is very, very disturbing. Yeah I know he is a sadist psychotic murderer but does that mean we have to see every minute detail?.

I think I dig the trailer, I love Hudson and Affleck is great. Alot is given away, but I don't mind because if the film is good it won't matter. Will have to keep an eye on this.

i just have a problem seeing Alba in anything.. she always seems too pretty for any character almost.. like unless shes playing like a model or actress, it just doesnt work for me…and for her to be a whore? stretch

Whoaaaaaaaaaa! I hope this gets picked up and released soon. Seems like Jessica Alba isn't in this movie for too long, and that's a good thing.

If you know the story, then you're aware that the trailer hardly reveals a thing… except Jessica Alba. If the movie stays true to the book, then there will be more of that as well. This isn't a mystery. The story is more about the depths of the main character's depravity.

Alright, I couldn't help but think this this looks unintentionally hilarious because it's just so damn absurd. Also, I feel like I don't need to watch the movie after seeing that six minute long trailer/summary.

Ya the music in the beginning of the trailer is from SAW 2! Its charlie clousers score from the SAW franchise.
But this movie looks good though.

Casey is kind of lame but i will still see it.

Yeah seriously Jessica Alba as a whore?…come on. Otherwise I am pretty wowed by it, weirdly I dont feel like ive seen it all though….its like they werent really trying to hide any shockers instead just getting you caring about the characters.

This looks like pure shit. I think that The two ladies should have switched roles at the very least. You have to be fucking fag to demolish a face like Alba's. That being said, Casey Afleck followed his brother's footsteps quite well. I had such high hopes for him back in American Pie. His character better get what he deserves, prison rape from a big burly black dude named Tiny. He needs to get his dick chopped off and fed to him. This may be good but I have no plans in the near nor distant future to watch this.

Wow, do they really have to show so much brutality? Sure, he's a depraved, psychotic killer, but this really sexualizes violence against women (Jessica Alba starts a relationship with Casey Affleck after he whips her?). It's pretty explicit.
