Interview: Fantastic Mr. Fox Writer & Director Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson Interview

A few weeks back I traveled to London, England and the small town of Buckinghamshire to be immersed in the world of Roald Dahl for Fantastic Mr. Fox. After touring the museum and his estate (more to come on that next week), I sat down for a very brief interview with Wes Anderson, the visionary director behind Fantastic Mr. Fox. My focus in this interview was on his creative process and development of the film, since Anderson was involved in writing the script (with Noah Baumbach) and directing the stop-motion animated film. I've been a fan of Anderson for a long time and it was a delight to chat with him. Enjoy the interview!

Watch my interview with Fantastic Mr. Fox writer and director Wes Anderson:

This was recorded inside the house where Roald Dahl lived in England which is also where Anderson and Baumbach wrote the script together. I've seen Fantastic Mr. Fox twice and it's a wonderfully entertaining film. It's got all the quirks of a Wes Anderson film with all of Roald Dahl's wildly imaginative characters. I actually enjoyed it even more a second time and highly suggest it to anyone looking for a great stop-motion animated film. As for Anderson, I wish I could've talked with him longer, as I had plenty more to ask, but got cut short. Fantastic Mr. Fox hits theaters this weekend and expands wide on Thanksgiving. Go see it!

If disney can resurrect 2D animation… I'm sure stop motion will still have its place on the big screen for a long time.
