Michael Bay Promises Megan Fox Will Be Back in Transformers 3

Yes, I know you're trying to forget about Transformers 2, and this isn't helping. If you followed the big back-n-forth between Michael Bay and Megan Fox earlier this year, you might've been left wondering if she would actually return, considering it seemed the two were not on good terms. However, Bay talked to USA Today at the recent Victoria's Secret show (he directed some of their commercials) and he's not mad at her after all. "I love her," Bay said. "It's just, she's young. Everyone's got to give her a break, she's only… 23? It's just hard. I've traveled around the world with her and she's just like this world symbol now, ya know?"
Uh, right, we know, but thanks for clarifying. But that's not all. For better or worse, he also confirms she's set to return in Transformers 3, which he's already been working on since its due out in July 2011.
He also said, "She's got a great part in Transformers 3," and he said he's currently working on the script. So Bay's not planning on getting revenge by, say, killing her off? "No, no. no," he said, dismissing it. "She gets enough of that already."
That's both amusing and depressing all at the same time. I don't want to start making comparisons like this, but one of the reasons why I think The Dark Knight was as brilliant as it was is because Christopher Nolan had enough balls to (spoiler!) kill off the female love interest in his movie. Bay may now consider adding that into the story (why not?), which might not be a bad idea. I'd rather see something like that happen to Mikaela than have them continue to leave plot holes left and right and ruin another sequel. And it might up the ante in a big way. And no, temporarily killing Optimus in Revenge of the Fallen isn't the same either!

Her part in the two movies: being pretty, nothing more, nothing less. I'm against another Transformers, but if it's going to happen, please get rid of her or give her something to do in the movie.

Transformers 2 was one of the worst movies i have seen in the last say, 5 years.
But i did enjoy the first one.

i think i'm on the same crazy pills mugatu was on in zoolander…. i firmly disliked the first movie and am on ok terms with the second one. Neither of them is a good movie but i would much rather watch the second over the first. The whole thing though is a cash cow so they will keep pumping out new ones, with or without megan fox (though i would personally prefer with, kill of shae labeuf or whatever his name is, and his parents)

I didn't mind her in the first because she actually helped out during the final fight. I hated every single fucking second of REvenge. I firmly believe it was the second worst movie of the last ten years. First being Max Payne.

so long as the VFX is there, ill watch, but thats only due to the fact that its also my line of work and have friends who've been there done that so to speak on the first movie and on iron man amongst others.
The script is gonna be terrible and the humor more than likely very forced. The first movie was "good" yet far from great, the second movie…well…lets not mention it.

you know she's actually a good actress, its just she has WAY to much media attention, and her looks although very good are rather off putting, I mean can we take this very good looking girl seriously in drama? I would like to see her succeed in the acting game.

I've already decided to not see this in theaters and wait for it on DVD or Blu-ray.
If even…
Saw the first film on opening day. The second a week and a half after it came out. This one…will be months…again, if even.

killing Mikaela off would be a doubt idea. anyway that comment that Bay said "It's just, she's young. Everyone's got to give her a break, she's only… 23? It's just hard. " shes a freaking grown woman shes 23 years old she should know how to behave

Just that there is a Transformers 3 is bad enough. Knowing that Megan Fox is getting more work is astonishing. If she wasn't a little hot then she would be homeless

Nolan killed off the love interest!?! WHAT!!! Like it wasn't messed up when she was replaced with the different actress and that happens to Bruce Wayne all the time anyhow! Wait, MJ wasn't Spider-man's first girl either!?! WHAT!!! OMG!!!! THESE IDEAS ARE SO ORIGINAL!!!!
Give it a rest on The Dark Knight Alex. JOURNALISM! Stop supporting BS with BS. Yes, Revenge was bad because of some literally ghetto Transformers and the roommate but as if the plot of Dark Knight was the reason it was good. No one could have predicted any of that….

I agree with all of you that Revenge was terrible, but I thought the Optimus Prime Jungle Fight Scene was the most enjoyable part of an unpleasant 2 and a half hour ass numbing experience. I was sitting there hoping the it would get better. Basically, most of summer movies were crap…..apart from Up, Star Trek, District 9 and Inglourious Basterds.

I enjoyed both Transformers. You have to look at it at face value. It's just an entertaining visual spectacular.
As for Fox, well it doesn't bother me whether she is in the movies or not; I watched them to see the transformers in action, not Megan Fox.

if you ask me Megan fox want's some Acting lessons first, Jeniffers Body her acting was rubbish she all eye candie, if Micheal bay is going to give her a bigger part in Transformers 3 get her some acting lessons
Cineprog on Nov 21, 2009

Whoever said Megan Fox is a good actress…what movie did you see where she showed actual acting chops? She only was in TF 1&2 and Jennifer's Body so far, and she didn't have very challenging roles in either of those.
Maybe she really is a fantastic actress (yes, I give her the benefit of a doubt), but none of her 3 movies even gave her a chance to show what she might be capable of.
All she was doing, was wearing terrible make-up, semi-skanky clothes, looking into the camera in a supposedly seductive way, putting a lighter to her tongue, and running around in slow-motion.
Ooooh!
They are selling her out as eye-candy, and after a while it is not hot anymore (if it ever was), but just fucking annoying. Unfortunately that's what she bases her career off of right now it seems.
Sex sells, it's true. But, if you're trying too hard for too long, it might backfire one day. And looking through these comments, it seems that day is approaching quickly.
I couldn't care less if she will be in TF 3 or not. TF 2 was terrible. Way too long, way too much love story douchebaggery, and an excessive use of Bad Boys style spinning camera that made me wanna punch a baby.
Honestly, I think I would like Transformers more if there wasn't any humans at all, or only as tool to tell a backround story. Make the Transformers the main actors already, so I can just watch amazingly animated giant robots beat the crap out of each other for 2 hours.
Oh, and please no more Transformer/Terminator hybrids with 10 feet tongues.
SuicidalOptimist on Nov 21, 2009

Transformers 2 was the cinematic equivalent of cotton candy. Yeah, sure it's bright and colorful; but when you try to bite into it there's nothing there. One of the all time worst movies I've ever tried to sit through. I say 'tried' because I took the disc out, after an hour went by and no discernible plot points had been advanced. A third film, in this series will be the proverbial set of tits on the bull.

everyone is too hard on transformers 2. Look everyone snooty and pretentious here, say what you will about the plot because yes it was silly and nonsensical. BUT, it promised giant fucking robot's fighting and guess what. IT DELIVERED. Go see the movie as a crazy ridiculous eye candy and boom there you go, you will enjoy it. Everyone expected some b.s about it being a great film, I knew it wouldn't be great in plot because not only is it Bay but it's a film based off of…TOYS! So please, whiney bitches of the internet, whine all you want, but it delivered what it promised. Robots fighting in some cool cgi shit.

#22 and #26, yes, everyone is too hard on Transformers 2. I personally enjoyed it. I had a great time at the movies watching it. Call me a mind-numb movie-watcher that is the reason why shitty movies are doing so well, but I thought the plot was decent, the action great, and the movie kept my attention throughout. Now, my problems with the movie wasn't the Megan Fox thing (though Bay does need to ease up on the camera shots of her), or the so-called ridiculous plot (for something based on a line of toys and a tv series that isn't exactly much of an improvement either way you look at it, come on), or even the twin robots (they never really annoyed me, I don't see what the big deal is, so long as they don't show up in the 3rd film, or if they do, not too much), the roomate, yeah, he was kind of annoying, so here's hoping he also doesn't show up. But the one thing that bugged me the most in the movie was the transformer chick. That pissed me off. Transformers don't transform into things that look organic, they are strictly metallic. Never ever do that again Michael Bay. That was the stupidest part of the entire movie. The rest of it I thought was good.

I took it for what it was. Giant robots fighting.
But the choreography was uninspired and nothing impressive, CGI was amazing though, but the fight scenes bored me. I almost fell asleep DURING one of the fight scenes.
If you guys were entertained by those fights, you'd love Hong Kong movies. And no, I'm not talking about flying people.

Lol, I am astounded that you think it took balls for Nolan to kill off Rachel. Killing off the love interest is so damn cliche nowadays, in film and other media, that it's almost laughable. If anything, it takes balls to write them strong and give them something to do besides looking pretty and useless. Or maybe I just have a thing for badass chicks, idk.
Daniel on Nov 22, 2009

Who needs plot? Who needs good acting? Who needs good dialogue? ACTION is all you need! It's Transformers, what else do you want? Such statements are ridiculous. All movies, even CGI-action fests, need a point, a purpose. The action set pieces may be the center of the movie, but there still needs to be a reason as to why we care, there needs to be a path for the movie, even if it is a CGI rollercoaster.
SlashBeast on Nov 22, 2009

Killing off Rachel wasn't just "killing off a love interest". It had profound impacts on it's characters and served greater thematic importance to the motivations of the characters.
Unlike Megan Fox, who really has no purpose to be in the story apart from looking hot. She could die and it wouldn't have much importance to the story other than "killing off a love interest".
Governor on Nov 22, 2009
34
To you all saying killing Rachel was easy is a moron. There is so much substance in her death, and Bruce Wayne (Batman)'s intentions, and the overall feel of the movie, that it was incredible. I honestly expected him to somehow, somewhere, be able to save both of them, as you all are very familiar with in hero movies. But no, instead, one of them dies, and it's the one that HE CHOSE NOT TO SAVE (Batman). It's as if you were given a choice to save your wife, or a well known scientist, the choice logically is obvious. But the action itself is impossible. Especially if she isn't your wife yet, and you are still chasing her with the thought that, in the back of your head, you two could / and WILL be something great.
There's a lot more to it than what a lot of you are saying. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's there.

wy is everybody so negative about tr 2. Ok the plot was not great. but hey it's a popcorn flick. I enjoyed it. going to see the 3rd cause it's about huge robots fighting huge robots. Dont go watch it if you expect a well written story. that's not what the movie is about.

other than the awfull twins, TF2 was ok
the forest fight scene really made my day as i watched it
Transformers 1 and 2 imo are just a stepping stone to better mecha themed movies such as Robotech, Evangelion
both of the films, they delivered great two hours of nice visuals both metal and skin wise
kidding aside i wouldnt mind having megan fox in the third installment either
its really the mecha action that i want to see in transformers and not some beautiful face or body.
so let them shoot TF3 and even more let them give us more mecha Robotech, Evangelion, Gundam liveaction movie flicks

I personally loved both transformers 1 and transformers 2, i loved the story for transformers 1 and the action scenes in transformers 2 were good. and okay the action scenes may have dragged sometimes but i think both movies were great and revenge of the fallen was well worth my money i would still pay it over and over again, i think michael bay does a great job with the films and i will definitly be seeing the 3rd transformers as long as the main cast return.
as for megan fox i love the cast especally megan and shia labeouf i think they are a great on screen team and although megan hasnt had the roles yet to show of her acting ability i am sure they will come along soon, i hope she stays in the transformers series and isnt killed off as i believe her character still has a big part to play in the films and i dont think that the transformers series would be the same without her or any of the other main characters in it.

Megan has had tons of time to prove her acting ability. Jennifer's Body was completely banking on her. Face it, she's the new Jessica Alba, acting wise.
