David Fincher Helming a 'Reincarnation of Peter Proud' Adaptation

David Fincher / The Reincarnation of Peter Proud

I'll be honest and admit that only within the past month did I have the exquisite joy of finally seeing David Fincher's film Se7en for the first time. It was just one of those embarrassing films that I hadn't ever taken the time to see. But having been blown away by it, my excitement is now off the charts as THR's Heat Vision reports that the trio (director, writer, producer) behind the twisted serial killer thriller is reuniting for an adaptation of Max Ehrlich's novel The Reincarnation of Peter Proud. Fincher will be directing from a screenplay by Andrew Kevin Walker (of Se7en as well) and producing with Michael De Luca again.

Man on Wire's James Marsh Will Unveil The Vatican Tapes

James Marsh

British director James Marsh made huge waves with his exhilarating documentary Man on Wire, which is apparently loved by nearly everyone. Now Marsh will jump back to feature films as THR reports he will be helming the supernatual thriller The Vatican Tapes which centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong. At least they're laying this all out on the table as opposed to The Exorcism of Emily Rose which instead portrayed itself as an Exorcist style horror flick, when it was really just a courtroom drama with unfrightening flashbacks. That's right, I said it.

Run, Casting Tidbits, run! First up, Variety reports that Gwyneth Paltrow is joining Nicole Kidman in the semi-recently announced project The Danish Girl, an adaptation of David Ebershoff's novel to be directed by Thomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In). The story revolves around a man's transsexual metamorphasis after his wife, a portrait painter, asks him to stand in for an absent female model. Nicole Kidman plays the sex-changing husband Einar Wegener, while Paltrow will portray his wife Greta, who stood by her partner through the sex-change operation, finally letting go when she realized the man she married was gone.

Duncan Jones to Direct Source Code Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

Duncan Jones / Jake Gyllenhaal

Most people probably haven't heard of Source Code yet, but everyone should hopefully be familiar with director Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon on Twitter), who broke out earlier this year with his sci-fi flick Moon. Variety announces today that Jones is next set to direct a sci-fi thriller called Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal in negotiations to star as the main character Colter. Mark Gordon (The Messenger, 12 Rounds, 2012) is producing with Vendome Pictures' CEO Philippe Rousselet and Jordan Wynn. Production is slated to begin during the first quarter of next year, making this Jones' very next project instead of Mute.

Indie Trailer Sunday: Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me

The Killer Inside Me Promo Trailer

This trailer has been out for a few days now, but I thought it was the perfect trailer to feature today, not only because no one is at work on a Sunday, but because it's a great indie trailer. The Killer Inside Me is the latest film from British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom about a West Texas deputy sheriff who is slowly unmasked as a psychotic killer. Casey Affleck stars as the sheriff and is joined by Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Simon Baker, Elias Koteas, and Bill Pullman. I also need to warn everyone that this is a full-on 5 minute promo trailer which means it contains nudity, violence, sex, you name it. So don't watch it with the kids!

Joe Johnston Thinks We Still Might One Day See Jurassic Park 4

Jurassic Park 4

Even though we've heard time and time again that it's going to never happen, director Joe Johnston still believes we will one day see Jurassic Park 4. Back in June, producer Frank Marshall said that another Jurassic Park was a "long shot" and that they "don't have a story." Not according to Johnston. Ain't It Cool News spoke with the director recently and heard otherwise. "Well, there is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it’s nothing like the first three. It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."

Must Watch: Gorgeous Trailer for Tom Ford's A Single Man

A Single Man Trailer

The Weinstein Company has premiered the trailer Tom Ford's A Single Man, the critically acclaimed film which has been receiving extraordinary praise since its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. A Single Man stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, and Ginnifer Goodwin and will be hitting theaters in mid-December for a brief Oscar qualifying run. I've been waiting to see a trailer for it because I have no clue what it's about. And I've got to say, this looks phenomenal, and it's frustrating that I still haven't seen it yet. The cinematography looks gorgeous, I really can't wait to experience this on the big screen. Take a look!

It's Aliens, I Tell You! It's Aliens Who've Sunk My Battleship!

Battleship

But seriously. We already know that the classic Hasbro board game, Battleship, is being adapted into a live-action feature film to be directed by Peter Berg. We know that Universal is planning on releasing it on August 5th, 2011. We know that the film will be shooting next Spring. What we didn't know, until now, however, is just who the international five-ship fleet (discussed by Berg) would be fighting. Well, according to Latino Review, we do now. Aliens. Sorry. Let me have another go at that. ALIENS! Oh yes. Sweet Zuul, yes. There's no word on what type of aliens, where they'll be from (aside from OUTER! SPACE!), or which

Woops, Here is the Actual Badass Poster for The Wolfman

The Wolfman Poster

Just barely two hours ago we ran what we thought was the first, and only, teaser poster for The Wolfman. It only had Emily Blunt on it, so we thought Universal didn't know what they were doing. However, Ain't It Cool News has just exclusively debuted yet another teaser poster for The Wolfman and it is quite badass. I thought about just updating that old post, but when I actually got a glimpse of this, I thought it deserved its own entire post. Sure it looks a bit noir, but this poster is truly impressive, I love it. It's simple, it's dark, it's sinister, it's pretty much perfect. Hell, throw out that other poster, this is all they need. Check it out below!

Watch This: New Trailer for Broken Lizard's Slammin' Salmon

Slammin' Salmon Trailer

I don't know how, but in the last few years, the Broken Lizard guys have lost all their Hollywood support. No studio will make their movies anymore so they've gone the independent route. Their newest feature, Slammin' Salmon, premiered at Slamdance earlier this year, but didn't get a distributor until much later. Now it's finally hitting theaters in December, but probably not near where you live. Either way, Apple has released a new trailer for Slammin' Salmon and it still looks good. I love these guys for exactly who they are - a group of funny guys who love making funny movies. It's not for everyone, but I think it looks hilarious.

Eminem Starring in Shady Talez, a 3D Anthology Horror Movie

Eminem

Aww shit dawg! Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, will star in Shady Talez, his first feature film in seven years (though he did appear briefly in Judd Apatow's Funny People earlier this year). The project, with a style described as "The Twilight Zone meets Creepshow," is a new 3D anthology horror film. Marvel will be publishing a four-issue comic book series based on Shady Talez in 2010 as well. Mathers will produce and star in multiple roles in the film, which will give an "urban wink" to genre classics such as Christine, Aliens, and The Lost Boys. The film is being produced by the newly formed D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment.

Unexpected 'Howling Reborn' Project Comes Out of Nowhere

The Howling Reborn

While perusing the halls at AFM this week, ShockTillYouDrop came across a rather interesting new poster for a sequel that we've never heard of until today. It's called The Howling Reborn and is, supposedly, a sequel or remake or reboot of The Howling, the classic werewolf movie from 1981 that was directed by Joe Dante. That original film spawned some six sequels and created the Howling legacy. The last one, titled Howling: New Moon Rising, arrived on DVD in 1995. This is the first time we've heard of this, though that poster looks quite a bit like the original poster. Is this some straight-to-DVD rip off or something more?
