Josh Brolin is Potentially Joining the Ranks of Men in Black 3

Just over a month ago we finally heard some official word on the long rumored Men in Black 3 as Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen was set to write the three-quel in Columbia's franchise. Now things are getting a little more interesting as Hero Complex reports that Josh Brolin is being considered to join the ranks of MiB, with a few possibilities for his role. Brolin will be playing either "a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely." The other good news is that Will Smith is expected to return.
Obviously it's no big deal if Agent K officially retires (again) and passes the reins on to Brolin. However, if Brolin ends up playing Agent K as a young man, and Will Smith is involved, that means that there's going to be some serious time traveling involved for J, and I can already see the unveiling of a previously unknown gadget in MiB headquarters, confiscated from an illegal alien that makes time travel possible (or maybe Dr. Emmett L. Brown is an alien?). Cue Will Smith's "Aw, damn!" Anyway, with Etan Cohen writing, I'm ready for a third installment of Men in Black if only to forget the atrocities committed by Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the rancid parts of Men in Black 2. You guys ready for Brolin to join the ranks of MiB?

Well I guess Wild Wild West 2 can't be too far off now! The Only sequal I want to see smith do is Bad Boys III. Leave the rest alone.

k could pass the rein to brolin and j could be jealous for not getting it and spends most of the movie trying to prove that he's an alien, only to fail in the end with some random twist. there, now we don't have to watch this movie. …..but who am i kidding, i'm a sucker for retarded sequels.

Not sure about another MIB although why can't they put Tommy Lee, Smith and Brolin?
I think this might be something.

i enjoyed MiB2, but the first was way better.
as long as Will Smith is in it, I'll see it one way or another.

The story was done in the first one - a great self-contained movie. The entire narrative ended in the original, which is why Men In Black II was a horrible re-tread and a tired film. You see it happen a lot in Hollyweird - when the plot is finished entirely, movie studios and writers kick themselves as to how they can derive more from something that is complete, hence you get terribly realised sequels such as MIB II, Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions, T3 & TS, etc.

I thought MBII was subpar considering the cast and the success of the 1st movie. @12 i agree with ya entirely. I was the only person that thought Terminator Salvation should have been a SciFi original, they never learn to leave James Cs work alone!
