Do You Want Tobey Maguire as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit?
You've probably already heard this, but there's a rumor that Tobey Maguire is in the running for the role of Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo del Toro's The Hobbit. The rumor originates from Latino Review, where they say "agency sources" told them that Maguire is "in the early stages of talks between CAA and the producers of The Hobbit." If anything, Maguire is interested but not officially signed on. While MTV thinks it's all legit, Movieline, on the other hand, does not. "'This is false!' Maguire's publicist Kelly Bush emphatically (and exclusively) told Movieline, eschewing the potential wiggle room of a simple 'no comment at this time.'"

Quentin Tarantino Picks His Top 8 Films of 2009 (So Far)
Are you ready for this list? I know this is going to be quite controversial, just because Quentin Tarantino on his own is already a controversial filmmaker. The Hollywood Reporter asked Tarantino (recently) what his favorite films of 2009 are and he gave them a list of 8 films that are "so far" his top picks for the year. As he explains in the video (which you can watch below), he hasn't seen Avatar, The Lovely Bones, or Invictus yet, so they're not included. And he also needs to watch Bright Star and District 9 again (because he thinks they may move back up on the list once he does). So without further ado, here's his top 8 film of 2009 so far.

Check This Out: Nic Cage as Big Daddy on New Kick-Ass Poster
More posters for Kick-Ass? Yep, we're going to get one of these for every damn character in the movie. I think Hit Girl is up next after this one! UGO has debuted a new character poster for Kick-Ass featuring Big Daddy on it. Big Daddy is another costumed hero played by Nicolas Cage in the movie (he's look kind of like Batman, right?). His daughter is Hit Girl, played by Chloe Moretz, and they form a ragtag vigilante team that is actually very efficient and quite brutal, unlike Kick-Ass. In related news, UGO also has a clip featuring Big Daddy. The film also just screened recently and Peter from SlashFilm said "Kick-Ass kicked everyone's ass."

David O. Russell Directing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?
Just last week we found out that Natalie Portman was going to be joining the adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in addition to producing the undead period piece with Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly. However, there was still no word on who would be directing, let alone writing the script. But with the film moving so quickly, it sounds like a director might already be in place as Pajiba claims that David O. Russell (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees) might be writing and directing. So while the risk of a fight breaking out on set has increased exponentially, this project would certainly be in good hands.

First Look: Robert Downey Jr. & Zach Galifianakis in Due Date
Director Todd Phillips' follow-up to The Hangover is another new comedy titled Due Date. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr. as an expectant father on a road trip racing to get to the birth of his first child. Zach Galifianakis stars as his "unlikely travel companion" and the two of them race across the country. The cast also includes Jamie Foxx, Juliette Lewis, Michelle Monaghan, Alan Arkin, and RZA. It sounds like Planes, Trains & Automobiles but with an expectant father twist. SlashFilm has the first photo which looks like it was scanned from a copy of Entertainment Weekly (but I'm not sure?). Did one of them bring a dog as well?

Tobey Maguire to Star in 'Prisoners of Trebek' Jeopardy Film
Now this just sounds like it could be good. Pajiba is reporting that Tobey Maguire has been cast in a new film called Prisoners of Trebek that Maguire Entertainment is developing for 20th Century Fox. The film is about a man who attempts to master Jeopardy (hosted by Alex Trebek), but ultimately finds himself and falls in love. It's based on a true story with a script written by William Wheeler (The Prime Gig, The Hoax). They don't know too much else about this, except that "it will be a heartstring-playing pic with elements of a Charlie Kaufman film." I'm in! See what I mean about how this sounds like it could be pretty damn good?

Second Iron Man 2 Viral Clue Uncovered, But Nothing Found?
Last week, SHH was sent over the "first clue" in an Iron Man 2 viral ARG that's on the verge of kicking off. Today, ScreenRant was sent over the "second clue" containing another mysterious newspaper clipping with more highlighted text. But has anyone figured it out yet? Doesn't look like it. However, there may be a lot of info hidden in this one that we're just missing. Look closely, including at the image beneath the article, to see if you can figure out what this is hinting at. So far no one seems to know what it's pointing to. But we do know that the two highlighted words so far are "Secret" and "Stark" so it's definitely leading somewhere!

Leonardo DiCaprio Starring in Mel Gibson's New Viking Epic
Remember that mysterious Mel Gibson movie that will be shooting at a prison in Veracruz, Mexico? Well, according to Variety, Leonardo DiCaprio will star in Gibson's new untitled period drama about Viking culture. The script is being written by Oscar winner William Monahan (The Departed, Body of Lies, Edge of Darkness). The people in charge confirmed the project but would not divulge many details. DiCaprio, who has long been fascinated by Viking culture, will play one in a storyline that will be as "unsparing" as Gibson's other period directing efforts: Braveheart, Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. This sounds pretty cool.

Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington & James Cameron All Talk Avatar
"Don't miss Avatar, in theaters Friday!" This will be the very final bit of Avatar footage we feature here until it comes out on December 18th this week. Since we weren't able to get our own 1:1 interview's with these people, I thought I'd feature this awesome conversation between the two lead actors and the director. Sam Worthington is mainly the one who is asking the questions, and Jim and Zoe are answering with some interesting thoughts. You also get to see some of the beautiful visuals that are much closer to the style and look of the world as you'll see in theaters. By now everyone should really be looking forward to seeing this!

Second Awesome Clash of the Titans Trailer Leaks Out Early
I just received an email with this YouTube link to the second brand new Clash of the Titans trailer that's supposed to play in front of Avatar later this week. It's pretty much an extended version of the first teaser trailer, using that same rock song and lots of the same scenes. However, we also get more dialogue, more action, and an epic glimpse of the Kraken at the end. I still think this looks as awesome as it did in that first teaser. I'm really impressed by everything I've seen so far, it really looks like Louis Leterrier has made a kick ass action movie that'll live up to the original. Watch this quick, as it'll probably be pulled down very soon!

Sound Off: Disney's Princess and the Frog - Your Thoughts?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? I've been waiting to write this because I didn't have the chance to see Disney's Princess and the Frog until last tonight. But now that I've seen it, I can voice my opinion, and hear everyone else's as well. The Princess and the Frog is Disney's first hand-drawn animated movie since Home on the Range in 2004. How does it live up to other Disney classics? Does the animation even look good? Does it have a good story and is it entertaining to watch? Are the songs any good? If you've seen it, then sound off, leave a comment, and let us know what you thought of The Princess and the Frog!
