Check It Out: Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz's Knight & Day Poster

Knight & Day

This isn't our first look, because I don't think silhouettes count, but it is a cool poster. Thanks to SlashFilm we have the first teaser poster for Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's summer movie Knight & Day. The action-comedy follows a fugitive couple on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one, not even themselves, are what they seem. "Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust." Sounds intense. In addition to Cruise and Diaz, this also stars Maggie Grace, Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Dano, and Viola Davis.

Clash of the Titans Adding More Gods & Maybe Going 3D?!

Clash of the Titans

Normally when we hear about reshoots, it's usually a bad thing (e.g. The Wolfman), but this time it could be a very good thing. Hero Complex is reporting that Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans will be doing some extra shooting starting in January. Geoff Boucher caught up with Sam Worthington at an Avatar screening last night and got him to openly chat about what's going on. So why are they doing reshoots? "We're going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it, they cut loose with some money so we can add to it." One of the many reasons I love Warner Brothers - they really care about the good movies they've got coming up.

Sound Off: James Cameron's Avatar - What Did You Think?

Avatar

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? This truly is a movie more than 10 years in the making. It was 1997 when James Cameron directed his last feature film, but now he's back with the epic new project he's been working on ever since - Avatar. Does it live up to all of the hype? How does all of that CGI look on the big screen? Does the story hold up or is it bland or problematic? Are the performances, even those shot entirely with motion capture, still exceptional? How does it compare to James Cameron's other great movies? If you've seen it, them sound off, leave a comment, and let us know what you thought of Avatar!

Watch This: Very First 2009: At The Movies Recap Video Hits

2009: At The Movies

It's a bit early for this - these usually start hitting around New Years - but it's still a great recap video, so I thought I'd feature it anyway. This isn't from the same guy who made the last few phenomenal recaps (like 2008: The Cinescape from last year), as that guy is oyguvaltshappy on YouTube and this one comes from another user named Zack1Young. Normally I love these kinds of recaps, but this one just didn't hit me like the others before. I love the Arcade Fire song "Wake Up" that he uses, but he needed to choose some better clips and edit it a little better. Anyway, enough talking, check out the 2009: At The Movies recap below.

James Gunn Casts Kevin Bacon in Superhero Comedy 'Super'

Kevin Bacon

You may or may not have already heard about Slither director James Gunn's new project called Super (we wrote about it in September), but we've been following it anyway. The comedy is about an everyday guy who transforms himself into The Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks the heroic skills. ScreenDaily has confirmed that Kevin Bacon is starring in the film as the villain Jacques, a smooth-talking drug dealer who steals the wife of our hero. Rainn Wilson stars as the main character Wilson and is also joined by Ellen Page and Liv Tyler. They just started shooting down in Shreveport, Louisiana this week.

Check This Out: Super Creepy Daybreakers Vampire Poster

Daybreakers

I was driving home the other day and passed a bus shelter with a few posters in it. One of them was this very creepy one for Daybreakers with a vampire hanging upside-down staring right at me. I saw it again later on and it gave me the chills. Bravo to whoever designed this poster at Lionsgate, it's one of the most effective vampire ads I've ever seen. It may sound cliche, but looking at this poster actually made me want to see Daybreakers even more than I did before - and I've been excited as hell to see this since the first trailer hit. I just want to see this creepy vampire in action on the big screen. Daybreakers hits theaters in early January.

Full-Length Trailer for Ensemble RomCom Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day Trailer

"Young love: full of promise, full of hope, ignorant of reality." Warner Brothers has debuted the full-length theatrical trailer (via Moviefone) for Valentine's Day, the ensemble romantic comedy that's just like Love Actually but set around Valentine's Day instead of Christmas. The cast includes just about everyone: Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Emma Roberts, Topher Grace, Patrick Dempsey, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Shirley MacLaine, Carter Jenkins, and George Lopez. It don't think it looks that bad. Watch and enjoy, if you can?

Saved by the Bell Might Finally Get the Big Screen Treatment

Saved by the Bell

It's quite surprising that after turning older television shows like Charlie's Angels, Get Smart, The Addams Family into feature films, many of the sitcoms and series from the 90's have remained largely untouched by the property grabbing hands of Hollywood. That has the potential to change soon as Pajiba reports that a Saved by the Bell movie is in the works. And while there's certainly some interest in revisiting Bayside High School (especially from Jimmy Fallon), the film itself would more than likely have an all-new cast with the possibility of cameos from the original cast members. But does anyone want to see this show as a movie?

Terry Gilliam Now Says Johnny Depp WILL Be in Don Quixote?

Johnny Depp in Don Quixote

The very last bit of news we heard regarding Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, which will probably be his next project ("hopefully that’ll get up and running next year"), is that he had cast Robert Duvall in the role of Don Quixote instead of French actor Jean Rochefort (from the original 2000 version). However, Gilliam is still apparently looking for funding and didn't seem to have a start date set yet. But in a recent interview with Paste (via SlashFilm), Terry Gilliam answered the question of "Is it still going to have Johnny Depp in it?" with a simple "Yeah, and I rewrote the script." So Depp will be back as Toby Grisoni?

Singer's X-Men: First Class Will Be About Xavier & Magneto

X-Men

When Bryan Singer announced that he would be directing X-Men: First Class on the Avatar blue carpet, he said that he would be directing "an X-Men First Class Origins picture." The title of the prequel does not contain "Origins", but thanks to an update on Variety, it looks like this will indeed focus on the origins of two mutants we're familiar with - Professor Charles Xavier and Eric Lehnsherr aka Magneto. Singer also said he "thought long and hard about returning to the franchise he launched until he found a storyline that would stand on its own." He even wrote a treatment for Fox, which is what eventually brought him back.

Disney is Bringing Pixar's Toy Story 3 to IMAX Next Summer

Toy Story 3

Disney has announced today that they will be releasing Pixar's Toy Story 3 in IMAX 3D on June 18th, 2010 next summer. This will be the fourth Disney IMAX 3D release and the first Pixar movie to ever be released in IMAX (oooh, ahhh). The only bad news is that Toy Story 3 will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of "The IMAX Experience" with proprietary IMAX DMR technology. I'm not really a fan of the DMR technology, I think it sometimes makes the picture quality look worse than if you were to just see it on 35mm. But I'm sure Toy Story 3 will still look great up on the giant IMAX screen.

Director Peter Segal in Talks to Join Neighboorhood Watch

Peter Segal

When the 2009 Black List was released, there were more than a few screenplays that had serious activity in development, but remain unproduced. One such screenplay was the Jared Stern written Neighborhood Watch, a comedy that follows a suburban neighborhood watch group, actually a front for dads to get some male bonding time away from the family, as they stumble upon a plot bent on destroying the world. The project once had Will Ferrell and David Dobkin attached to star and direct respectively, but that fell apart and now Variety is reporting that Peter Segal (seen above) is in talks to direct the supernatural comedy.
