2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have just been announced today. Yet another awards show in the very top tier (which also includes the Golden Globes and Academy Awards) is the Screen Actors Guilds Awards, where the actors themselves choose the best performances from amongst their peers. These nominees are usually very similar to those at the Oscars, so this may be a good indication. Their picks this year are great, as usual, but it seems like a weird year. I would've loved to see someone from Avatar on here or Zoe Saldana at all (she's so damn talented), but oh well. Check out the full list below.

Peter Cornwell Directing New Sci-Fi Thriller 'The Panopticon'
As of late, extreme interest in established franchises has created more than a fleeting disinterest in the spec script market, leaving original ideas out in the cold. However, the science fiction genre has reinvigorated a taste for original scripts with the success of Moon and District 9. Now another sci-fi spec script gets a shot at glory as Variety reports that director Peter Cornwell (Ward 13, The Haunting in Connecticut), seen above, has been set to direct The Panopticon, which follows a salesman who receives a pre-recorded message from himself that tells him the world is about to end and only he can save it. But there's more to it than that.

Tina Fey & Steve Carell Together Again for Mail-Order Groom
Next April will see Tina Fey and Steve Carell together on the big screen with their action comedy Date Night (you can check out the trailer, which I found to be mostly entertaining, right here), but that doesn't mean they aren't already thinking about working together again as THR reports the comedic duo is loosely attached to star in Mail-Order Groom a comedy about a naive single woman who can't find love and ends up with a husband from Eastern Europe, bringing him home to the good ole United States. However, finding the time for Fey and Carell to do the flick anytime soon could prove difficult considering they're both busy.

Must Watch: First Full Trailer for Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2!
Remember all those Iron Man 2 viral clues we kept writing about recently? Well, once they were all put together, they unlocked this trailer (via this website). And boy does it kick ass! Paramount has debuted the first trailer for Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 starring Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle. This trailer is mostly comprised of the same footage that Jon Favreau showed at Comic-Con, but it's polished and packaged much more nicely. This trailer definitely pumps me up, Iron Man 2 is going to easily be one of the big highlights of next summer. Watch this now!

Watch This: Kristen Stewart in The Runaways Teaser Trailer
Another highly anticipated trailer to watch this week? Apparition has debuted the teaser trailer on MTV for Floria Sigismondi's The Runaways, the Joan Jett biopic starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. We've seen plenty of paparazzi photos for this already, but now check out some actual footage from the film. It's a short teaser, but it's long enough to whet your appetite (and don't spin that the wrong way). This looks pretty intense and gritty and grungy and badass and I'm digging it. I also love that 70's look to the footage in this. Will definitely be checking out The Runaways at Sundance. You might be surprised by this, so enjoy it!

First Look Photos from Fox's Live-Action Marmaduke Movie
I know, with Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel coming out next week, you're probably don't want to hear or see anything about another annoying talking animal movie. But this one looks fun! Following the success of Marley & Me, Fox decided to adapt the newspaper comic strip Marmaduke into a live-action feature film starring Lee Pace, William H. Macy, Judy Greer, Ron Perlman, and Owen Wilson as the voice of Marmaduke. Found in the "Paw Print Post" section of the USA Today is an article about the movie and the Great Dane who "plays" him in the movie named George along with these first few photos. Take a look!

Bryan Singer Confirms He Will Be Directing X-Men: First Class
Tonight in Hollywood, the who's who of the entertainment industry turned up for the premiere of James Cameron's Avatar, which has been gaining more and more positive buzz as reviews start pouring in. But some non-Avatar news came from the "blue carpet" of the premiere tonight as director Bryan Singer announced to reporters and an audience (including the guys at FlickChart) following the live stream of the premiere on Ustream/MySpace that he will indeed be directing the beginning of a new superhero franchise in X-Men: First Class, which confirms what we've suspected since October. Finally, some good news!

Second Full Clash of the Titans Trailer Now Officially Online
Although this trailer leaked out earlier this week, it's still awesome to watch a second time. Warner Brothers has just debuted a second official full-length trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans. The movie stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Danny Huston, Pete Postlethwaite, and Mads Mikkelsen. Although I thought the first teaser was good, this trailer is still a huge improvement. There's more action, more dialogue and story, and a frickin' awesome first look at the Kraken. And how about that shot of Medusa above? I've got to say, this really does look great. Watch & enjoy!

Self-Described Failure Alec Baldwin Talks Career Highlights
A little while back it was said that Alec Baldwin simply didn't have an interest in his craft anymore and would be retiring from acting when his award-winning bout on NBC's comedy series "30 Rock" ended, most likely around 2012. To make matters worse, Baldwin went even deeper and darker: "I consider my entire movie career a complete failure." Powerful, but sad words from a gifted actor. Some people have written this off as an empty promise, but when Baldwin sat down with Wired, he went through his career ups and downs and talked about how making terrible films has saved his career on many occasions. Read on!

Check This Out: New Tron Legacy Billboard Photo Unveiled
So this doesn't really count as a poster, but it's close enough. Earlier this week, Disney installed a new billboard in Los Angeles (near Santa Monica Blvd and Westwood Blvd) for the upcoming Tron Legacy. The photo of the billboard (above) comes from AICN, where they also say that the photo will change every month from now until this is released next December. I wonder what else will show up? ComingSoon also landed a clean, high quality version of the banner image, which you can see below. This was also the "first photo" that was sent to select Facecbook fans as part of a promo they ran. So anyway, check it out below.

Must Watch: Totally Bodacious Hot Tub Time Machine Trailer!
Now this is a comedy I'm excited about - it looks so awesome! MGM has debuted the full-length trailer for their new comedy Hot Tub Time Machine. This combines everything I love: skiing, hot tubs, time travel, comedy, hot babes, fluorescent colored clothing, and beer. I would've gone and seen this without watching any trailers, but man does this look so frickin' hilarious. This is what you get when you put Craig Robinson, John Cusack, Rob Corddry, and Clark Duke in one hot tub - madness! I love the concept (as in, it's not like Bill & Ted where they go everywhere, just back to 1986!) and I love the humor. Totally can't wait to see it!

Walt Disney's Nephew Roy E. Disney Passes Away at Age 79
It has been officially confirmed by THR that Roy E. Disney, the nephew of Walt Disney who became a powerful behind-the-scenes influence on the family business, has died today at the age of 79. Not everyone may be familiar with Roy Disney, but he was one of the most influential people inside of the Walt Disney Company, helping turn it into the immensely successful company, movie studio, and powerful global brand that it is today. Back in 2005, he resigned both as an executive and as a member of the board of directors, although he's remained intimately involved in the company ever since. He died earlier today from cancer.
