Anne Hathaway Also Approached About a Spider-Man 4 Role

Yes, there have been lots of rampant rumors surrounding the villains and additional casting for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4, and just today a new rumor spawned about a supposed casting meeting with Julia Stiles for the role of Black Cat. Well, some speculations might be shot to the ground today as Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood grabbed an exclusive (and surely reliable) scoop that producers have approached Anne Hathaway for a role in Spider-Man 4, and while she's not familiar with the comic canon, she goes on to say, "she's wanted for a starring role, and she won't replace Kirsten Dunst." As Finke would say, "Toldja!"

Of course, in asking her own readers who Hathaway might play, the overwhelming response to inform Finke was that of the role of Black Cat. But as I've commented several times before, I don't think this will turn out to be anything more than a solid new supporting role that will play prominently in Peter Parker's life, but not that of Spider-Man's (get it?). With this news coming from more official channels, and from a very reliable and consistently correct source as Ms. Finke, we might not have to wait too much longer for some official word from Sony. And if it is Hathaway, what do you think. Would she make a good Black Cat?

ok this is what the cast SHOULD look like Gerard Butler as Kraven Jamie Foxx as Tombstone And Elizabeth Banks as Black Cat-i think that was a rumor already but I like it. And I think the idea of Jim Carrey as Carnage is Brilliant. Not that all of these people should be in the same movie, but two of the four.

She not bad at all for the part of Black Cat in spidi 4, Anne Hathaway is not a bad actress. But i wish that sony would come out and say who will be the villanese in the new spiderman 4

Hathaway is far too innocent to convincingly portray Black Cat. A great actress, but this is not her role. I like Eliza Dushku for Black Cat.

Since they confirmed Dylan Baker before JK Simmons I'd say it's very likely that the Lizard will be the main villain. Plus, Curt Connors fits into the whole 'peter's various father figures' category and in a way represents a possible future for Peter.. Personally I cannot stand the Black Cat. I hope they're casting another character.

she looks promising from above picture,agree with (6) gerard butler as kraven the hunter,dylan baker as the lizard that would do.don't know what sony have in mind isn't spider-man 4 & 5 meant to be filmed back to back,so what kind of storyline are they planning.

Personally, I just can't stand Anne Hathaway. I really can't think of a movie she's been in that I've enjoyed. As a possible love interest/love triangle character I could deal. I see Black Cat as a strong muscular woman.

Gerard Butler as Kraven???? No thanks. Can I say I would prefer someone a little more unknown!!If Butler did it I would be like "oh its gerard butler dressing up as kraven" the whole movie... That guy can't act!

@KG! In regards to Elizabeth Banks as Black Cat, she has portrayed Miss Brant in all 3 of the films.

Dylan Baker was great in Trick R Treat. He will be great as the Lizard. Anne Hathaway can play whoever she wants

I really like Hathaway, but I don't really know is she's Felicia Hardy material. I mean, it all depends on how they interpret the character for the movie, but Black Cat or not, Felicia's always been a kind of rambunctious character who chases excitement and thrills. I don't really see Hathaway believably filling that role. But I DO like Hathaway in general. Maybe i'd like her more as an attractive Debrah Whitman, who works as Doctor Connors assistant. That way it ties into a potential Lizard storyline.

Anne Hathaway can act. She's pretty. But she's not drop dead hot, which is what Black Cat is. There are better actresses out there who can portray the character. Given the way Gwen Stacey turned out, my hopes are very low that the right person will be cast.

Elisha Cuthbert as Black Cat....stop playing around with these dog face actresses....Black Cat is supposed to be smokin hot....not semi cute....And Julie Stiles ughhh. she might be a new Spidey villain called Snaggle Tooth
