Behind-the-Scenes First Look at Kristen Bell's When in Rome

An early behind-the-scenes first look at Kristen Bell's new comedy When in Rome, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, aired as part of Disney's Backlot Buzz TV show. As far as I can recall, this is the first time I've even heard of this movie, so before we even have a trailer, this is our first introduction. And I'm not too excited by any of it, except for the supporting cast. The only point I laughed during this entire video was at Jon Heder's character, the street magician, who is clearly a spoof of Criss Angel. But other than that, this looks like nothing more than your standard romantic comedy that we've seen countless times before.

Beth Harper (Kristen Bell) is a young, successful real estate agent... but she's completely unlucky in love. However, when the New Yorker travels to Rome to see her newlywed sister, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of wannabe lovers.

When in Rome is directed by Mark Steven Johnson, of Simon Birch, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider previously. The screenplay was written by writing partners David Diamond and David Weissman, of The Family Man, Evolution, and Minutemen previously. Disney will debut When in Rome in theaters on January 29th.
