Two Interviews: Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

One of my favorite movies of the year has finally hit theaters (albeit limited only) this weekend - 500 Days of Summer. I first saw it at Sundance and back in January, one snowy afternoon, I sat down with stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Marc Webb. That interview I did with Marc was posted back in January (watch it here). However, I've been holding onto the Zooey and Joe interviews until now - so that you have something to watch right now. And now I present to you both interviews, side-by-side, for your viewing pleasure. Remember, both of these were conducted at Sundance in January.

Both of these interviews were shot using my Flip Mino camera. You may have noticed roughly 2 minutes into Joseph Gordon-Levitt's interview, the camera skips, and that's because I had to yell at the other people in the room because they were being too loud and I could barely hear Joe. Sorry, I had to cut that out of the final video. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed watching both of these. Sundance is always a bit odd as I'm usually sleep deprived and cinematically overloaded (I had probably seen 20 films by this point), but I tried my best to ask some good questions. And also don't forget, 500 Days of Summer is playing in theaters right now!

Looking forward to see this movie! Still think Joseph Gordon-Levitt would have made an awesome Tesuo in a live action Akira. Dudes, you guys need to invest in some proper gear! Get some proper lav mics or a shot gun mic for interviews. It's hard to hear with all the background noise.

Thanks Alex!!! Zooey is absolutely gorgeous. I love her as an actress and as a person. JGL is unbelievably talented as well. Can't wait to see this!

I will be one of the few to say I didn't particularly like this film. I understand its strength lies in its undermining the traditional Rom Com formula, yet I still found it lacking overall in depth. I walked out thinking this should be called: "He's a girl & she's an asshole." But that's the same thing as hoping that girls learn their lessons in traditional Romantic Comedies, so I suppose in that respect, it succeeds. I just think Neil Labute did it WAY better, in "The Shape of Things" - which may not have been as evenly produced, but certainly took more chances and reflected much more accurately and deeply on its chosen subject: reversal of roles in romance. Look it up.

@Jimbone - If you don't like them, please explain why, so I can try to improve next time. If it's audio quality, I already know and have been working to improve that in the future.

My audio and video for the Joseph Gordon-Levitt interview were not syncing up and it started to piss me off. Anyone else have this problem?
