First Trailer for Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience

Coincidentally, I just walked out of a screening of The Girlfriend Experience, no more than five minutes ago. So I'm happy to now put up the trailer for Steven Soderbergh's latest low-budget indie feature, about the life of a $10,000 a night escort. It stars real-life pornstar Sasha Grey, but it's not a porno by any means, it's a rather fascinating character study. It's definitely worth seeing and I think this trailer does a great job of introducing the story and Grey's character, who is a rather cold and emotionless individual, for reasons you'll soon find out. The trailer comes from Hulu, so for now it's only available to US residents, apologies!

The Girlfriend Experience is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, of numerous phenomenal films, including Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Traffic, Ocean's Eleven, Solaris, The Good German, and the Che epic previously. The screenplay was written by writing partners Brian Koppelman and David Levien, of Rounders, Knockaround Guys, Runaway Jury, Walking Tall, and Ocean's Thirteen previously. This first premiered at a secret screening during the tribute to Steven Soderbergh at the Sundance Film Festival. Magnolia Pictures will debut this in limited theaters starting on May 22nd this summer.

Would it be possible to find another hoster vor this trailer than hulu? It's frustrating, because it only works in the US, and all the other people around the world can't watch it. Thanks a lot.

the drums in this trailer were pretty annoying, I kept waiting for them to stop and they didn't. doesn't look that good.

Twitch has a non Hulu version of the trailer...I understand you're anger...I loath both MTV and Hulu for their restrictions...you'd think when it comes to movie clips, interviews and trailers, the studios would want the most people online able to view their material...

I've been wanting to see this (I admit an addiction to Secret Diary of a Call Girl) but I am so not intrigued by this trailer. It just seems flat, and not in an interesting way. I'll reserve judgment though, maybe we'll get a better one closer to release.

Yeah I know who Sasha Grey was before this and I don't know if she can pull off real acting, if she can that's great, I'd support her in that, but even the whole style of the film in this trailer looks boring, I mean there's nothing interesting about it, no emotion, no story, no jealousy, no danger, nothing to try to hook you. I hope a better trailer with some substance comes out, and yeah the drums were super annoying, it made it try to seem upbeat instead of intense/grim/strange or whatever else you might think a call girls life might be, even that choice for the trailer was useless. Alex why don't you shed some light on this for us.

Uh... the drums are from Shakerleg... one of NYC's most intense street performers. If you saw two seconds of what that guy can do, you wouldn't be saying anything about the music. I would say it's more annoying seeing all those images messing up those drums... The guy is playing all that with his hands... there's not a drummer on this earth that plays the way he does. Check youtube... way to go SHAKERLEG... you totally deserve it....

It's great being able to see it on demand at Amazon before it's out in theaters. Soderbergh directed another great film. It makes you think about the blurring line of personal with professional. Is she really mixing business with pleasure?

Just saw this on Video On Demand. Love Soderbergh. He is so freaking talented!!! Odd choice of casting but it works. Think is great too being able to view it on VOD and Amazon b4 theaters. Bravo!
