Only in the last few years has actor Justin Theroux turned to writing, but after the enormous success of his work with Etan Cohen on Ben Stiller's action comedy Tropic Thunder, he snagged a dream job writing Iron Man 2 for Jon Favreau and Marvel Entertainment. Though it was recently announced that Theroux would be producing an Air Guitar feature for Paramount, THR reports that's not stopping him from writing his next project, titled Space Invader, a romantic comedy about a man who decides to journey into space after he suspects that his longtime girlfriend, an astronaut, is cheating on him with another spacewalker.
Will Arnett (last seen in Disney's G-Force) is attached to star, though it's uncertain which male role he's taking on (I'd assume he's playing the "other" cheating guy). Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger sold the project to Fox and penned the original draft of the comedy. Will Arnett is a great comedic actor, but his best work is still from Fox's canceled series "Arrested Development" (which we're still waiting to see jump to the big screen). Unfortunately things aren't looking up in his film career with the trailer for When in Rome making me almost vomit, but with Theroux on top of the Space Invader script, I've got some semblance of hope.
