Katee Sackhoff Wants to Play Typhoid Mary from Daredevil?
I know, I know, I hate these "she was seen with" rumors, too, but this one is far more legitimate than the Eva Longoria story from last year. Over on the blog for the Golden Apple comic book shop in Hollywood (where I buy all my comics from), they mention that "Battlestar Galactica" actress Katee Sackhoff stopped by their store looking for "all the Typhoid Mary comics we had and has hopes to get a part for a Marvel movie." Those familiar with Daredevil comics know that Typhoid Mary is one of his lovers and longtime foes. Could that Daredevil reboot that was rumored about last year actually be taking shape already?
Rumors of a new Daredevil movie first arose late last year when IESB talked with Fox's Tom Rothman, who said that a reboot "is something we are thinking very seriously about." Since then, we haven't heard anything, probably because Fox was focusing all of their efforts on Wolverine and only talking about spin-offs related to that franchise. But now with this update, it may mean that the project is actually moving along quickly. Can they already be casting? Do they even have a script? Is Jason Statham still in the running to play Matt Murdock? These are some big questions that I wish we had the answers for already.
We all know that in 2003, Daredevil came to the big screen starring Ben Affleck. However, I don't know anyone who thinks of it as one of their favorite comic book movies, by any means, so a reboot wouldn't be a bad idea. I'll leave the discussion open for now, because I don't want to get further into this until it's official. But if you're a comic fan and are familiar with Typhoid Mary, then be sure to let us know what you think!
