Katherine Heigl Joins Robert Luketic's Five Killers

"Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl has signed on to star opposite Ashton Kutcher in the Lionsgate thriller Five Killers. We announced that Kutcher would be joining back in October, so this isn't the first time we've heard of it. Five Killers is being directed by Robert Luketic, of 21 and The Ugly Truth, and was originally written by Bob DeRosa (The Air I Breathe), with Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven, Matchstick Men) handling the rewrite. The story kicks off when a woman marries the man of her dreams (Kutcher), but their lives are turned upside down when they discover that their neighbors may be assassins hired to kill them.
I'm going to be frank and say that I'm not that fond of Katherine Heigl. Why is everyone sticking up for her? She had a big break with Knocked Up, which I admit she was great in, but now every future project she gets attached to, everyone seems to complain. Oh, why isn't she doing something better for her career? I don't hate Heigl by any means, but I'm not going to stick up for her and give her more credit than she deserves! She's just another run-of-the-mill good looking actress who has a good TV show and got big because Judd Apatow made her look good. That said, I'm curious to see what Five Killers is all about. Thoughts?

I think she's better than you give her credit for. Some of her performances on Grey's Anatomy have been truly great. During the season 2 finale she was spectacular and definitely deserved her Emmy. So far her movies have been ok and I'm glad to see she's doing more than just romantic comedy. I think she'll do a good job in this one.

She is anything but run of the mill and is an excellent dramatic and comedic actress. I think Heigl is pretty much the shining light in Hollywood at the moment - she is very fresh and really lights up the screen.

Everyone sticking up for Heigl? You are joking right? She gets more unfair criticism and abuse from the press than she certainly deserves - whatever she does is wrong and people like yourself write things off before even seeing it. She is a fabulous actress, an Emmy winner with multiple Golden Globe noms - to say she is run of the mill is quite frankly a joke.

I don't want to seem like I'm jumping on a bandwagon with the previous posts written here, but I have to agree with them. Katherine Heigl is terribly underrated. I think she is quite beautiful yet down to earth with everything she's done from "My Father The Hero" (I saw it on a airplane once) all the way through "27 Dresses" to Grey's to "Knocked Up".... Run of Mill??? honest, yet drastic opinion. Nevertheless, I do respect it.

i am not ashamed of admiting that i am a die-hard greys fan.. and katherine is a major reason why. i loved her since her days on Roswel.... she was GREAT... she si anything but run-of-the-mill ... she si beautiful and not politically correct... she doesnt starve herself into disappearance and she is a terrific actress when it comes to drama... her comedic timing isnt bad either... she really is the next biggest female star in hollywood... may not be as big as julia roberts but definitely better than cameron diaz.... she has the star potential... give her a drama and i think her emmy will have oscar for company... i may be exxagerating a tad ... but i love her in everything she does...
