Len Wiseman Taking on Apocalyptic Mystery Film 'Nocturne'

What if you survived the end of the world, but you had no idea how it all happened? 20th Century Fox will be taking this interesting concept to the big screen as THR reports that director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) will be at the helm of Nocturne, a story about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position. Funnily enough, Fox doesn't even know how they got to that position because the studio is still in the process of hiring writers. Despite the lack of direction, this high concept seems like an apocalyptic Memento, and that sounds like all sorts of good fun.
Though the concept sounds intriguing, Wiseman hasn't exactly impressed me with any of his work. Live Free or Die Hard was a generic action movie disguised as a Die Hard movie, and Underworld just isn't my cup of tea. Beyond that, he hasn't done anything else that great. But he'll have plenty of chances to redeem himself as he's attached to the underwater military action flick Atlantis Rising and the futuristic war movie Shrapnel as well. Here's looking forward to eventually seeing a solid movie from an original concept, and hopefully not another generic genre flick that Wiseman has become increasingly susceptible to delivering.
