Lymelife's Derick Martini Sets Up His Next 'I Am My Family's Secret'

That title alone is interesting enough. I'm hoping that a few of you out there caught the wonderful indie film Lymelife at a festival or in theaters earlier this year. If not, go rent it and watch it, it's a great film. Variety has announced that writer and director Derick Martini, who spent more than seven years of his life developing Lymelife, has setup his next film at Paramount. The comedy is called I Am My Family's Secret and will be produced by Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's Montecito Picture Co. and distributed by Paramount. I can't wait to see who they cast in this, as I'm sure Derick Martini will pick some great actors.
The script, also written by Martini, revolves around two very different brothers who discover their parents have been hiding a life-changing secret for more than two decades. What is the secret? You'll have to see it to find out! I became an instant fan of Derick Martini after seeing Lymelife, not only because of all the Star Wars references, but also because it's an incredibly well-made film. I definitely think Martini's strengths will play into this new film perfectly, like his style and comedic sensibilities and so on. We'll let you know when we hear more about I Am My Family's Secret - hopefully it won't take seven years to make this one!
