Must Watch: Badass Trailer for Woody Harrelson's Defendor!

A few weeks ago we brought you the first photos from an indie comedy called Defendor starring Woody Harrelson as a wanna-be superhero. The film is premiering at the Toronto Film Festival later this month, and we weren't expecting to see anything from it until after then, but thanks to Twitch we've got the first trailer and holy crap does this look so unbelievably awesome! I was already expecting it to look good, but not this good. Everything about this looks great, the style, the Batman-like feeling, the humor, Woody Harrelson and Kat Dennings, everything! I can't wait to this up in Toronto. Drop what you're doing and watch this!

Reality intersects with delusion in the mind of Arthur Poppington, a regular man who adopts a superhero persona known as Defendor, and combs the streets at night in search of his arch-enemy, Captain Industry.

Defendor is both written and directed by Canadian actor-turned-filmmaker Peter Stebbings, who is making his directorial debut with this film. This will be premiering at the Toronto Film Festival this month where it will be looking for a distributor. It's my guess that this will be picked up pretty quickly, as it looks like it'll play well at the fest and could be easy to market to audiences that are currently infatuated with superheroes.

#2 and #3 are right, awful lot of deja vu there... I'll see it though, seeing as Defendor got shot, stabbed and beaten, and still seems to be around Anyhoo, it'll hold us over until Kick-Ass

hopefully Defendor will be better than Special, because Special was very disappointing. but from the trailer and the short clip, I have a lot of optimism for Defendor.

Any time i see Elias Koteas i just think of Casey Jones in teenage mutant ninja turtles. This looks real good though, plus for some reason Kat Dennings keeps getting hotter,movie by movie. Even if she's playing a junkie.

For some reason I get the feeling from this trailer the movie is going to end up being like "Observe and Report" where the trailer made it look like a goofy movie but the actual product is a lot darker.

its like lars and the real girl - just instead of the doll he's a superhero, and instead of ryan gosling its harrelson... and instead of it being good its going to be garbage.. pity i like woody harrelson....

its exactly like star wars, except instead of star wars its Defendor I liked SPECIAL a lot, this looks like someone took that premise and gave it a bigger budget? or could be something original and unique in its take of the vigilante hero.. either way, looks like fun!

While this looks fun and all I really wish Mark Hamill's Black Pearl got made instead. The BP comic aint so great...but the screenplay was killer...

Hey dudes, listen to yerselves man...it's a movie, if you have doubts about it don't go to the theater and watch it man...instead like watch it later on dvd or tv dudes. I'm a fan of Harrelson so I'm sure it is worth seeing, at least one time man. alright dudes chill out man yer not the ones with piss on yer rugs
