It looks like Lionsgate has finally settled on an name for Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's follow-up to Crank: High Voltage. The futuristic action flick is now known as just Gamer (it was previously know as Game or Citizen Game) and is still set to hit theaters on September 4th. Over on UGO they've debuted the official teaser poster, but instead of going for just a static poster, it's actually interactive. Remember that awesome interactive poster for Terminator Salvation last year? Same sort of idea, and this one is pretty cool if you know the concept behind this movie. Check it out and stay tuned for a trailer probably very soon.
Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player named Kable (Gerard Butler) from a game called "Slayers" looks to regain his freedom and escape the prison while taking down the game's twisted mastermind (Michael C. Hall).
Gamer is both written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the two crazy filmmakers behind Crank and the upcoming Crank: High Voltage. This was produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and is being distributed by Lionsgate. Game is tentatively set for release via Lionsgate on September 4th this year.
