Pixar's Adventures with Carl and Russell

In connection with their Super Bowl TV spot tomorrow, Disney / Pixar have unveiled a new clip from Up as part of their new series titled Adventures with Carl and Russell. In case you didn't already know, Carl and Russell are the two main characters in the film. Russell, a wilderness explorer who inadvertently ends up joining Carl on his trip to South America, is missing only one last merit badge - "Assisting the Elderly." I will admit that this kid is very annoying, but I think that's part of the story, somewhat of a combination of coming-of-age and still learning to live life at an old age. Enjoy this newest clip from Pixar's Up!

By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.

Pixar's Up is directed Pete Docter, one of the original Pixar members who directed Monsters, Inc previously and wrote the stories for Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The film is co-directed and written by Bob Peterson, who also wrote Finding Nemo. Disney will debut Up in theaters everywhere on May 29th this summer.

I don't know, Pixar does amazing things with breathing soul into things, but humans, we'll see.
  • TN
yeah, i'd be rally surprised if they can breathe soul into humans.... :D :D :D

I spy Pixar's first flop with this movie. Beyond the novelty of a flying house, and even that can only be used only so many times, how is this movie going to be entertaining? I don't care about this grumpy old man, who looks and sounds just like every other old man I've seen in movies, and the same goes for the boy scout. I know it's early days, but the fact that Pixar has captivated audiences with the first poster of movies such as Wall-E and Toy Story doesn't bode well for Up.

You know The Incredibles had plenty of humans... you just need to find the magic in this! Which honestly, I haven't even really seen yet myself... ;)

I guess i'm judging a bit hastily, but I will say that I loved The Incridibles and I know that Pixar can do humans marvelously, I just think that they've made an error here with they're choice of main characters. The Old Man and Young Child buddy comedy routine, "a la" Indianna Jones and Mutt for example in Indy 4, has been done to death already. I just don't see this doing the Pixar name justice.

everyone whos saying this is no Walle is correct. Although, that doesnt make this bad. The first trailer for this was quite exciteing, and although the film doesnt look as good as some of Pixars past, does not mean it will not be excellent.

in my honest opinion, this looks amazing..... At this point we have seen a little more than walle showed us...and we still have 4 months to go guys.... We know what this is about but we have not seen anything yet... come on guys Also I liked Wall-e but it is my 2nd least favorite next to Cars...
