Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris Sharing Too Much Information

Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris

If there's one thing that the internet has ruined (and believe me there's much more than one thing) it's the English language. It's absolutely maddening to hear people use phrases like BRB (be right back) and BTW (by the way) which have spawned from instant messaging and invaded everyday verbal conversations. Now we'll get a bigger dose of this abomination to language as Variety reports Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris are set to star in TMI, a romantic comedy that will explore the premise that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. How exactly does that work?

Reynolds will also executive produce the script written by Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith (writer of The Ugly Truth and The House Bunny) and longtime Saturday Night Live producer Marc Klein. This project is the first purchase from Universal's new chairman and co-chair Adam Fogelson and Donna Langley, respectively so the hope is for this to be among a whole slew of new projects to help them bounce back from a devastating year at the box office in 2009. With a very vague plot description, it's difficult to see how this will turn out this early on, but as always we'll keep our ears to the ground for any updates. Now they just need a director.

"while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. " - yea, i can see where that above statement could make for a decent romantic comedy.

Ethan, I enjoy your writing and check in with the site every morning... but a little constructive criticism. If you're going to complain about the ruination of the English language as you do in the post about TMI above, you might want to remove the (unintentionally ironic and) unnecessary apostrophes in your earlier posting on the Warriors Three in Thor. "Warriors" is plural, not possessive. No apostrophe required. Glass houses and all that...

love the two of them - they were hilarious in 'Just Friends'

Chris, you're spot on. For one to complain about ruining the English language, Ethan has a long list of grammar problems from previous articles. But I somewhat agree with Ethan...stupid acronyms like CIA and FBI, gosh! This whole recent abuse of acronyms is sickening. lol Just for you.
  • #2 Chris L, Thanks for pointing that out! Sometimes I just miss those. I also appreciate the dry humor you employed to do it. Tra la la la la di da, It's been awhile! Grammar mistakes are unavoidable, and yes, we all make them. But of course my issue is with these ridiculous abbreviations for phrases rather than using acronyms to shorten organization names. Personally, I'm surprised that you went with the CIA and FBI as the pesky acronyms when I would have gone with the IRS, the FCC and of course, the tyrannical MPAA. Regards,

I think Reynolds and Faris make a good comedy pair...I laughed my ass off watching "Just Friends". As long as they keep up the over-the-top, frenzied screaming at each other, I'll see it.

middle of the road comedy..b.ut if you look at the proposal, ryan is what sold it more than sandra comedy wise. I think this will have a fair chance due to his involvement. as for the internet ruining things, its not the internet, its people. Short form texting is one thing, but if you say LOL in real life (my bad, i mean IRL) someone should slap you silly.
