Singer Leona Lewis Behind Avatar's New Title Song 'I See You'

Personally, I think Celine Dion singing "My Avatar Will Go On" would've been a much better choice for a title song, but oh well. A new press release from Atlantic Records, distributor of the soundtrack to James Cameron's much-hyped film Avatar, indicates that Grammy winning pop and R&B singer Leona Lewis will be the voice behind the film's title song "I See You." The rest of the soundtrack is made up of original music composed by James Horner as part of the score. I'm not sure if a movie like Avatar even needs a title song, but then again, Annie Lennox's "Into the West" from Return of the King was quite a success as well.
Hopefully this song wasn't just an afterthought to try and nab an Academy Awards nomination (it certainly seems like that at first glance), but we'll have to wait to see how it all fits with the film when Avatar hits theaters on December 18th. As far as we know, the song will show up in the closing credits, which still allows it to qualify for an Oscar. In the meantime the soundtrack is available for pre-order and will be in stores on December 15th, in case anyone is dying to listen to this score right away. I doubt that information about the title song in Avatar is going to change anyone's mind about the movie, but I thought we'd mention anyway.
