Spike Jonze is Blogging About Where the Wild Things Are
by Alex Billington
May 11, 2009
One of our favorite directors, Spike Jonze, has actually been blogging about his inspirations for Where the Wild Things Are, amongst other amusing ramblings. The blog can be found at WeLoveYouSo.com and apparently has been up for the last few weeks, although we only heard about it today (via Film Junk). Intro from the blog: "The film represents years of work from hundreds of different artists, writers, photographers, musicians, actors, and creators of all degrees. This place has been established to help shed some light on many of the small influences that have converged to make this massive project a reality."
There's a lot of great stuff found on the blog and some fun features, like this video showing Spike "testing" a Wild Things mask on a kid who really doesn't like it at all. There's also this post showing how they found a French edition of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are book, as well as a link to the video where author and screenwriter Dave Eggers gives a TED talk. The photo at the top comes from this post. If you're a fan of Spike Jonze or just looking forward to his Where the Wild Things Are movie (which after the trailer, I don't know who the heck isn't incredibly excited for it), then We Love You So is a great blog to follow.
