Sorority Row Trailer

Summit Entertainment has debuted the trailer for their Halloween slasher film Sorority Row, a remake of the 1983 film The House on Sorority Row. This has a very I Know What You Did Last Summer vibe, with a killer that reminds me of Scream and a group of girls straight out of Black Christmas. Could this be any more formulaic? And if you didn't already know, besides a gaggle of hotties, this also stars Carrie Fisher. Personally, not only do I hate most college movies, but I hate most cheesy slasher flicks, and this is a combination of both of those. So I think you all know what I'm about to say, but I won't anyway. Enjoy?

Sorority Row is directed by Stewart Hendler, of only the film Whisper and a few shorts previously. The screenplay was written by Pete Goldfinger, of Piranha 3-D and a few TV series previously, and Josh Stolberg, of Kids in America and Good Luck Chuck previously. This is a remake of the 1983 horror film The House on Sorority Row directed by Mark Rosman that starred Kate McNeil and Eileen Davidson. Summit Entertainment is bringing this newest Sorority Row to theaters everywhere on October 2nd this year.

Hmmmm, looks like another wanky horror flick. Not really all that impressed. The trailer gives you the whole story. A bunch of teens fucked up and kill an innocent teen. Someone returns for revenge. You hear screams, see blood and the ending will be open ended for a sequel. I think I should be a Hollywood writer. If people can write garbage like this and make millions then what hope do we have?

Well its kind of like i know what you did last summer and i honestly looks pretty good i might see it

Tom W on Mar 20, 2009

ezza I am in with you for being a writer in Hollywood. Lets take Scream's killer, combine a revenge plot like the one in I Know What You Did Last Summer, and then make the kills Sawish in fashion. We can also place it in Communist Russia for the twist

You know, I'd almost say that this doesn't look terrible, if it weren't for the fact that the premise is a complete rip off of I Know What You Did Last Summer (Or rather, IKWYDLS was a rip off of the original Sorority, or whatever. Chicken and the egg). Why remake a movie who's base theme has been skimmed into a thousand variants, none of which have been any better.

Don't the "sorority" type characters in horror movies all get slaughtered anyway? The movies missing the anti-hero!!! And all robed slashers have like +5 Natural AC to their defense for some reason.

#15 They probably went investigating the basement on their own and got killed in a most predictable way.

Luis M, You are my new hero. Or at least my new hero. That is the funniest thing I've read and/or heard in days. Oh, and the movie looks like cr@p.

lol @ Carrie Fisher... i'd love to see her kick some ass

sojourner on Mar 20, 2009

Let me guess, the killer is the dead girl's sister/brother/mother/father/dog...

lol @ 21 They just changed the weapon from a hook to a tire iron. Oh well, this looks stupid enough to watch just for the comedic effect. Plus you know Audrina is gonna be topless at least once before they kill her.

Chuck Norris on Mar 20, 2009

It seems like it would get boring for after the first 20 minutes and that trailer pretty much was the entire story. all I want to know is who the killer is (it probably is the girls parents or something.) The little part of the guy actually killer her was kind of shocking/funny. that had my interest but that was quickly lost in about 12 seconds. I'll probably skip this one and wait for one of my friends to tell me what they think of it.

I see it as John Tucker Must Die mixed with I Know What You Did Last Summer in a Wringwraith costume from Lord of the Rings... Fail as Ab has said, which is a shared opinion.

John on Sep 6, 2009

Ah yes another movie where you cheer for the serial killer to get rid of all the bad actors and hopefully the writers and director as well
