Veidt Music Network

We've been following the Watchmen viral website TheNewFrontiersman.net for a while now, and with the movie due out in a few more weeks, we weren't expecting anything too exciting to pop up last minute. But alas, another crazy old school video has hit, this time from the Veidt Music Network. It's an old MTV-style video segment called "Who Watches the Watchmen?" It's probably already made the rounds, but if you haven't seen it yet, here's your chance. I've enjoyed the past few videos (10 Years of Dr. Manhattan and The Keene Act and You), but this one just wasn't as good as those, although it's fun stuff nevertheless.

Thanks to Adam for sending over the retro TV player you seen above. That definitely puts a classic spin on the whole thing and should get all of you in the mood for Watchmen. Only a few more weeks left!

Watchmen is directed by Zack Snyder (of Dawn of the Dead and 300) and is written by David Hayter (The Scorpion King, X-Men, X-Men 2) and Alex Tse. The film is an adaptation of Alan Moore's highly acclaimed award winning graphic novel of the same name. Watchmen officially arrives in theaters everywhere on March 6th, 2009. Stay tuned for even more Watchmen coverage, photos, and more here on FS.net!

really disappointed with this one. Character recap? useless.

i can't stand the apparent push to make Doctor Manhattan the main character. keep to the book, equal importance for all.
  • #2 - Don't worry, I've seen it, and during the movie, each and every one of them gets equal importance, not even Rorschach is the main character, it's a perfect ensemble balance.

god. that was pretty damn annoying.

    Alex, yay! great to hear.

The NBS news report looked like it really did come from back in the day, but this one just looks like a parody made last week or something. Not good.

Yea i found this one really annoying for some reason. Still after watching those clips of Watchmen, i really hope that this movie is better than what was shown.

I thought this did look like an old-style MTV clip, which was the idea, right? The "VJ" looked liked an older, wiser Martha Quinn.

Alex gets to see the coolest movies earlier than the average people! He has a sweet ass job! but I believe he cannot say a word about the movie or review it until the movie hits theaters. Am I right Alex?

I remember that all the MTV veejays were all older too. and i thought this was dead on. in the beginnning of mtv it was empty sets with some crap laying around, veejays in their late 20s early 30s (remember JJ) that looked much older than the audience and dry 1 camera work. except for the lack of grainyness this was just as bad as those early MTV days. I thought it was a good attempt.
  • @ 12 Ya lets hope he don't get nailed for his comment in spot 3 =P On a serious note.. aren't you all glad that legal snag some months back got settled? =D

I agree with 13 I thought this was decent. And the fact that you could see David Bowie and Mick Jagger behind Veidt in that clip sold me yet again on this movie. I don't know why I watch these anymore, I already know I'm gonna see this a bunch of times.
  • what an idiot
